The Samick J-8 is a jumbo acoustic. This one was probably made in 2004, in Indonesia, as part of the Greg Bennett Series. It has 20 frets, joining at the body, on the 14th. It has a solid cedar top, with rosewood back and sides. The neck is mahogany, with a nice rosewood veneer, on the headstock. The fingerboard is rosewood, with small, abalone crosses, for markers. It has tasteful abalone binding and soundhole decoration, that enhances the woody look, without being flash.
The J-8 comes with gold Grovers and a discreet, tortoisehell like, scratchplate.
If you want a cedar topped jumbo, this is as good as you'll get for the price and you'd have to pay a hell of a lot more to get better. I really like this guitar.
