A great fun games machine. My 4 year old can use the games and especially loves the wii fit! It works well, is fairly quick to load.

Nintendo Wii is a really fun console, a nice change from the more serious gaming experiences and a real party toy!! Lots of games avaiable now, only problem is the price but I got mine free from www.gadget4free.com so I don't mind too much!! Really recommend it!

The Wii is a very fun console. The movement feature is also great. If you have the correct games, the wii is the best gaming console ever made in my opinion, the only problem with the wii is that it doesn't have a lot good games. Most games are pathetic. Also graphics could be better.

The Wii is a fun console and is worth buying, even when playing alone it's still fun. Also when you have played GameCube you can play all those games on the Wii and with the GameCube controller. But if you wanna play FPS games I would recommend an Xbox 360. The Wii is for games like Zelda and other Nintendo exclusive games.

Great graphics and what an awesome way to spend family time. Almost all ages can enjoy this fun and dynamic way of interacting. The response times are amazing and the games are fun.
I am not a game console fan but do think the Wii is fantastic. Now that they've added wrist straps the whole venture is a bit safer and just lots of fun.

The Wii is an amazing console, I'm lucky enough to own all 3 next gen consoles. The Wii easily can hold its own in the market as you alright know. Wii controls, fun and unique experience is awesome. the official Nintendo Games like Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Wii Sports are amazing games that show the Wii in it amazing form. the value for money is the best on the market.

Bad points are the Network, the shop is good but only 3 games are online as far as i know. 3rd party games are rubbish on the Wii just like the Gamecube and 64. i have Redsteel & Tomb Raider and both are real bad games. put it this way. stick with the official Nintendo games. hoping for the network to inprove to help the Wii along nicely.

Fun for all of the family, and good for exercise too. 3rd party games show that the graphics aren't poor, just not used so much for the standard games.

This is a great system that is fun to play. The graphics aren't the greatest, but the games are fun. That is what is important with gaming, not always how nice a game looks. I got my Wii from freegamesystems, a few weeks ago and I have enjoyed playing it ever since.

“When I FINALY managed to get hold of the famous Wii,...”

★★★★★

written by Gee x on 28/01/2008

When I FINALY managed to get hold of the famous Wii, set it up and started gaming, it was soo easy to understand. The Wii sports that came with the console is a good way to get used to the remote as theres a lot of moving involved, especially in the boxing (hence why I am all stiff). The last console we purchased was a Play Station (1), years ago and since then theres nothing that has ever apealed to me, but the Wii was so different I think it does attract everyone.

At the moment some of the games do seem a little tame, but in time more games will become availiable, the other good thing with the Wii is that Game-Cube games can be used in it, but we are yet to try it.

The only real bad point is that only one control comes with the console, so if you plan some hard Wii'ing as soon as you buy, you'r best off to buy an extra Wii controller with it.

I would recomend the Nintendo Wii to anyone, as it is very good fun!

I will say that the Nintendo Wii is super fun. A lot of fun! One of my personal favorite games is Wii Sports. The Wii gets you off the couch and makes you have fun with life and with gaming. If you are a hardcore gamer I don't think you would want this, But if your like me a person who loves to have fun then you will love it!!

“How much fun is the Wii? A lot I can tell you. We've...”

★★★★★

written by tomtom2007 on 23/10/2007

How much fun is the Wii? A lot I can tell you. We've got just about every console ever released dotted around the house, but the Wii is the only console that the whole family plays. My girlfriend is normally the kind of person that would rather watch someone else play than play herself. The Wii however has changed that. She only really plays Wii Sports (that comes with the console), but it's a start! As I'm a bit of a retro fan, I plan on killing two birds with one stone when the Sonic and Mario Olympic game comes out before Christmas. It looks like it could be another game to get my girlfriend off the sofa.

The Wii is aimed at the family market, with its simple control method and its non-gaming functionality such as weather reports, news, basic web-browsing, email and online voting.

Much fun can also be had in creating your own virtual character that you can use in some games such as Wii Sports and afore mentioned Sonic Olympic game. Its fun watching your character leap across a tennis court or get a strike in ten-pin bowling.

With child obesity on the increase, Nintendo should market the console as a piece of fitness equipment. A 30-minute daily regime on the Wii could be what the doctor ordered.

“Well, what can I say. Its the best technology console...”

★★★★☆

written by ChrisyP on 14/06/2007

Well, what can I say. Its the best technology console in the gaming industry. I thought I would review the Nintendo Wii now as I have had a chance to use it since Christmas. The console is quality and small, very neat and the controller is ace!! While I'm jumping around playing Wii Sports or seriously concentrating on Zelda, every game on this console is ace with the sensor controller that moves to your actions. Only downfall I have is that the battery life in the controller is quite short and you have to keep changing them, but I believe game shops and Nintendo have brought out re-chargeable batteries which I have not purchased. Second downfall is that most of the games out are quite childlike for teenagers and the graphics are not the best I've seen but they're OK. I have got to be honest I have not injured myself with the controller but I have let go of it by accident, this could happen to anyone so make sure to be careful. For the price of £179.99 you get one of the best ever consoles on the gaming market and one of the best technology consoles as well. If anyone is uneasy about getting a Nintendo Wii, I hope I changed your mind because they are quite amazing... and I have not had any injuries yet (touch wood). Quality console I Would Recommend to anyone of any age.

I've played on a Wii and thought it was really good, don't know how much fun it would be if you were sober and on your own though

written by khas01 on 21/05/2007

This is a truly revolutionary console. Yes I know the graphics looks pathetic against the PS3/XBOX 360, but they will allow the couch potatoes to get fatter and fatter. The Wii uses motion sensors in the control units, giving a far greater degree of control. You no longer have to remember how to do that combo move, instead just do it!

You move and sweat a bit and actually use your muscles rather than thumbs! The controllers vibrate and have speakers which add to the tactile experience of game playing.

This makes game playing so much more interesting and adds to the skill. An interesting side effect in our house is that the girls like it as well, and are always keen to play tennis or bowling. Also because you actually have to move, you get tired more quickly, and eventually turn it off and do something more interesting instead.

The title range is not vast yet, but as time goes on I am sure that will change. Graphics are the only selling point of the other nextgen consoles, Yes they look really smooth on the PS3 and really life like on the Xbox, but the player moves are impossible to remember and they offer noting new.

The Wii, despite its poorer graphics actually makes it interesting to play.

I love mine.

★★★★★

written by Rabbit banger on 03/04/2007

This console will have, maybe, won the console war over the PS3 and XBOX 360 as it is the only one with a good motion sensitive system. Yes and I know what you PS3ers will be saying "the PS3 is motion sensitive too" but i just don't think it is as good and fun to use as the wii. I must emphasize, also how good the value for money is for the wii- £180 with everything you need and wii sports. What does the PS3 cost? £420 WITHOUT a game. I fully recommend buying this console 10/10. Thanks

★★★★★

written by DS3011 on 13/03/2007

Prior to getting my Wii on the launch day I was full of excitement and joy and when I got home and set the console up I actually discovered how powerful and fresh this console was.
The new motion sensing controller puts you more in the game and has endless fun but after continual play the joy and excitement of the new way of playing begins to wear off.
The online use is fantastic so far there is a Wii Shopping Channel, Wii Forecast Channel, Wii News Channel and Wii Everybody Votes Channel but surely more shall become available in the coming weeks. The only bad thing about these Channels - especially the Shopping Channel take a while to load up.
The range of games is good but once more first party titles begin to hit the shelves such as Super Mario Galaxy the excitement and feeling of being in the game shall rekindle.

The graphics may appear last-generation but who needs High Definition graphics for fun? Sure it may make the games look more lifelike and enhanced but truly it is the development, plot and design of the games and console that make the games the best.

★★★★☆

written by lazzer r1 on 27/01/2007

I pretty much agree with Carternm31. The wii is a much better version of the 'eye toy' for the PS2.

This is a great invention, and is fantastic when friends come over for a few drinks. I don't have kids, but i would imagine that this would be great for them. Much better than sat on the sofa all day holding a joy pad.

I have only played Wii sports and Call of duty 3 so far. Wii sports is brilliant and very addictive - great fun! Call of duty is very difficult, and has taken me a while to get used to it, but still good fun.

Overall, for kids and party nights, get the Wii. For the serious gamer who really wants to get deep into a Hi Def game, get the 360. If you have enough money and time, get both!
