'A Course In Miracles' is a likeable and easy-going listen. It's a musical parable that relaxes the listener. Its fusion of sounds is an interesting concept and the mix of powerful male and female vocals are something special to behold.
Musically the record reminds me of bands such as Deep Forest and Enigma but amalgamised, quite originally, with some deep house sounds and Eastern melodies.
My only criticism would be that as a result the music can at times sound dated; as if it were meant for a different age.
A record like this could find a niche market in the UK but I think Avitas would be far more successful in mainland Europe or the Far East.
Still, an all-round worthy debut from a new band who deserve your attention.
