Having never flown with them we assumed Canada's national carrier would be good - wrong!! On return from Orlando to London via Toronto we were informed in Orlando that we couldn't fly on booked flights but would have to reroute via Ottawa. We protested but were refused boarding on the Toronto-Heathrow flight. “Hell”

Avoid like the plague. Air canada cancelled my 14 hour flight from rome to SFO and put me on a 23 hour flight back with 4 connections. That is not the product I ordered -- that should be illegal or ground for full reimbursement. Flying is horrible these days… Read Full Review

“Bad luck and bad service?”

Bad management equal bankrupted airline service that screwed many flyers. Combines this with ruthless guidelines that if you show up 40mins before the flight actually flies, your cut off! existing tickets? nah, you'll need to fork out more money for them. I booked a cross county trip on points and felt like a second class citizen. On my trip to Happy Valley Goosebay me and 12 other passengers travelling on points boarded a plane that sat on the Tarmac for over an hour before we were asked to deplane and accept a 6 hour delay. “Dreadful Customer Service”

I flew return Toronto-NYC in May. Flights were delayed on both flights in one weekend. One way was due to weather, so I was tempted to let that go, but we were on the tarmac for 2 hours in TO and another 45 mins in NY. Mechanical issues on the way home; a 2 hour delay. I emailed customer service to complain about 2 delays in one weekend, but they were so unhelpful and borderline insulted my intelligence. “Not good enough for business class prices”

Very disappointed. Business class check in very bad at Vancouver. Given incorrect boarding passes and no apology when we had to go back to have them corrected. Lounges average at best. Table design the worse I have ever come across. Food average. Flight attendants non attentive, and one almost surly. Need to learn from the likes of Emirates. “Rouged not a good name to be known by.”

Rouge worst flight ever, uncomfortable no cushioning on seats, no room for legs. ran out of food, got an Ipad but movies so old not worth paying the fee. Flight delayed for 6 hours, staff at the gate rude and had no clue as what to tell customers, crew brought one drink on almost 5 hour flight then vanished to the back chit chatting. “Not that bad!”

I have flown with AC on at least 12 occasions and despite all the negative press on this site I have found them to be quite good. I have also flown extensively with BA and Qantas and AC easily compares. Yes, they are late leaving sometimes but so are BA and most others. Yes, their food isn't great but neither is BA's or Quantas'. the new discount version of Air Canada known as Rouge....is horrible. I had booked a regular air canada flight and even paid an extra fee for an exit row. Then Air canada changed the flight to their discount Rouge version. I lost my exit row as well. We had a 9hour delay in Phoenix and then had a four hour flight in the most cramped seats ever. This is the send time I teavel with them from La to Toronto, in both times they changed my seat despite that I have seat numbers on my tickets. When I talked with the agent she talked to me with attitude and in displenary way, never seen worse than their agents. “The worst check in experience of my life.”

Never in my life have I received such terrible service from an airline. My experience has lead to me deciding that I will never again fly with air canada and will happily pay more to go through another air line. “Lost bags 18 days and counting”

My daughter's bag has been missing for 18 days Every day she spends an hour on the phone trying to get someone to help her. Every day she gets the run around. Good luck with that as we are now at 41 days of our suitcase being missing with Air Canada. Its been missing since January 4, 2014

“Frequent delays and very poor service!”

I am flying with AC for the second time to HK and I am again having a delay. I have been seated for almost three hours and still waiting to depart. “AC Worse Ever”

Air Canada lost our luggage (all 3 bags). It has been over 8 days and still no phone calls or updates from AC. Instead I've called the last 4 days and they change the story every time. The baggage claim telephone "agents" are obviously answering from a 3rd world country (India or ?). They are not only difficult to understand, but they have no ability to accurately confirm the location of the baggage and they can't tell you when someone will contact you or deliver the bags. “They screw you every chance they can”

I have had so many terrible experiences on Air Canada I don't even know where to start. Last month a flight attendant told me to put away my ipad when we were told we'd be delayed for an hour on the ground and then the flight attendant sitting next to me was texting all the way up to and including take off. Today I rebooked a flight and they had a credit on file for me. The fare was less than the credit but they still charged me the change fee on 2 tickets.
