I fly AC every week for business. I also fly other US and CAD airlines several times per year. By FAR Air Canada is the worst of the bunch and here's why: 1. No on time departure: I would say at least 90% of the time the plane departs late and can't make up time in the air. On average we depart between 30min to 1h late each time. 2. Horrific customer service: I have 2 friends that are senior flight attendant and we discussed this in length. In a nutshell, Air Canada employees that... (read more)

I had never flown AIr Canada before until my first trip alone to America. I treated myself to first class and it was horrible. I was travelling from Kelowna to Atlanta. I paid for business class, but did not receive it on my flight from Toronto to Vancouver because I missed my connection. The reason I missed the connection is because my flight from Vancouver was downgraded and we ended up not having any pilots for about an hour. Once I got to Toronto, my bag wasn't there even though it was... (read more)

The customer service in Air Canada is abysmal! They are not willing to help, they cut you off when you're trying to speak, and they have the most rude personalities of any airline I have ever encountered. I wonder what kind of screening process this airline goes through to hire their employees because they should put a little bit of effort since they are essentially representing the airline. I would NEVER book with them again. (read more)

I don't even know how to summarize this properly. This is the first time I have EVER made an online complaint about anything. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. We were removed from our connecting flight without notice due to the flight being overbooked. Instead of being rebooked by Air Canada for their mistake we were put on stand by. We had to wait until there were 2 spots available. This happened on Monday. When we got fed up with waiting from flight to flight we went... (read more)

Without the Canadian government's pathetic bailouts this horrible excuse for an airline would have disappeared years ago and done us all a favor. No concept of customer service because they figure they get enough business so take it or leave it. I travel A LOT with my family, from Canada, to Hong Kong, and back. I visit Hong Kong once a year, and I usually take Cathay Pacific. But I had to go urgently and the nearest flight available was on Air Canada, so I went for it. I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The flight attendants were just standing around. I was expecting at least a greeting or a cup of water, like on Cathay Pacific, but all they did was stand there staring at people. Plus, on Cathay Pacific, the flight attendants are GOOD... Disappointed that zero stars isn't an option, because this airline simply has no redeeming values. In my opinion it's just pure evil from top to bottom, and they simply aren't prepared to help when they screw up. It'd be one thing if that was rare, but it's so frequent it's practically a feature of flying with them. It is sad that Canada is in the name of this airline because it is not a reflection of the Canada that I know. The caring attitude towards their customers is disgraceful. It is sad that Canada is in their name. This airline can not be run by Canadians! The way they mistreat paying customers is disgraceful. We sat on the tarmac for 7 hours and when they finally took us back to the terminal with a full plane of passengers, they had absolutely no sympathy for us, no vouchers, and we were told "you are on your own to rebook, either on-line or over the phone" and "there are no flights available for a couple of days".
