Good Points: -Pricepirates is free, - Helps to seize bargains, - Compares prices in auctions against shops - Reminder feature to place auctions bids at the last moment - Integrated statistics features
Bad Points: It is a piece of software which needs installing. While the total number of shops in eBay and Shopping.com is large and also crosses borders, it does not represent the "total universe of shops". Provides a lot of other features which require some time and getting used to.
General comments: Pricepirates is a price comparison program checking eBay auctions against thousands of shops.
Buyertools Ltd this week is launching the first free of charge price comparison program, checking eBay auctions against thousands of online stores. "Pricepirates" finds offers from merchants listed at Shopping.com and the Amazon Marketplace to include them in the comparison of eBay auctions/shops.
The software can be downloaded for free from the developer's web site Price Pirates.com. After installing, the user only has to enter a keyword and Pricepirates lists all matching offers with their prices within seconds.
The program's menu is simple and intuitive. It generates online and in real time comprehensive lists which can be sorted by a range of criteria. A mouse click on an entry opens the relevant product page at the selected online store in a browser window.
Buyertools states that it guarantees the user's anonymity and that its program is free of ads and spyware.
