I have been coming to clapham willie smarts for the past year, Nicola does my highlights and cut and she does a fab job. I always feel very welcome by the lovely receptionist. It's a relaxed friendly atmosphere and i would 100% recommend coming here and getting Nicola to do your hair. Also aveda have the best products. (read more)

I have been going to Willie Smarts in Clapham for about 4 years. They are the first place I've ever been to who actually listened to what I wanted. I've been asking for subtle highlights but to retain my natural brunette for ages but always ended up with a full head of expensive blonde highlights. The three colourists I've seen at Willie Smarts have listened, helped and explained to me why ideas I had wouldn't work and then suggested other options. They also use much more gentle colouring... I discovered Willie Smarts 13 years ago and have never strayed, prices are sensible and they only use Aveda products. A relaxed friendly atmosphere and a seriously good hair wash with massage thrown in! Louis is my stylist and I now plan my haircut and colour totally around his hours - no one else will do! I was nervous at trying out a new hairdresser - CP is a bit short of salons with talented stylists. I have lived in South London for some time, and have always used Willie Smarts. Not only are they friendly and affordable, but are honest. I have recently been in to get my hair lighten (being a dark brunette) - POPPY, my lovely stylist was honest and realistic towards my goal of becoming BLONDE.. I have been coming to willie smarts in clapham for the past 6 years, i have had a few of the sylist and have always been happy. I have recently had Nicola do my colour and cut for me and i must say i was very pleased. She suggested trying something new with my hair, i was a bit unsure as im not very keen on change but i am delighted with the result Nicola was fantastic, easy going and lovely to talk to. Please do not go to this salon. I went to Willie Smart in Clapham after reading the reviews here and am now missing not only 10cm of my hair, but experienced the rudest hairdresser I’ve ever had. I initially rang to make an aptt with a guy I had heard good thing about after reading reviews here. But he said he doesn’t cut hair much anymore and I’d be far better off with another hairdresser. I have just had my hair cut and coloured by Maria and was so pleased with the result, in fact I would go as far as saying it is the best hair cut I have ever had!!
Maria was very professional, but chatty and friendly with out being intrusive.

I went to Willie Smarts in crystal palace for the first time a few weeks ago, I was a bit nervous as i can never seem to find a good hairdresser. I had my hair coloured by a stylist called Nicola who was amazing and did it just how i wanted, I then had it cut with a guy called Simon who was excellent also. I have been going to Willie Smarts ever since it opened in Crystal Palace. The salon is quite unique and has a friendlier more personalised approach than others. The music is eclectic too. This is the best salon in the area and compared to Dulwich, the best value for money too. I was delighted when I managed to get a last minute appointment with my favourite stylist, Welsh born talented Natalie; Mel is fanastic too. Finally a hairdresser I can trust! Ian is amazing!!! Before I discovered Willy Smarts, thanks to my good friend, I used to dread the hairdressers. Sitting in the chair experiencing what felt like a white knuckle ride, watching hairdresser after hairdresser flippantly cut away.... until finally I discovered Willy Smarts!
The environment is fun and relaxed and I actually look forward to my appointments. My hair has never looked better or been in better condition, which for bleach blonde...

I've been going to WS at Crystal Palace since April this year & I'm delighted with the service, products & prices. The fabulous Natalia does my hair and I've always left the salon feeling fantastic...!

I have been going to Emma Davis for a cut and colour for ages and she has always done a brilliant job. I have blonde hair and used to find it very stressfull getting my hair coloured how i want it. Emma always listens to what i want and i get the perfect colour, she also gets it very close to the roots and does it very quickly. she is also not stingy with the number of foils she uses, which these days most hairdressers are! She cuts hair very well too, expecially my fringe. (read more)

I have been going to Willie Smart's in Clapham for 3 years. Nicola does my colour & consistently does an amazing job. The Aveda products are excellent quality and quite luxurious.
It is great value for money, really lovely people who seem to enjoy what they do.
I would not go anywhere else.

Excellent place and really friendly. Tried other places but always end up back here. Skilled hairdressers, like Ian or Curtis, always do a good job at interpreting my ramblings and turning them into a really good haircut, and Ian is really good on colour - tried a few new things that I might not have done otherwise. I have just had my hair cut and highlighted at Willie Smarts in Clapham. The staff were extremly friendly, but not over the top. Paul did the cut and colour and I must say that I was extremly pleased with the end result. The Aveda products used by the salon are exceptional and I must say I exited the salon feeling like a million dollers but felt as though I had bagged a real bargin. (read more)

I've been getting my hair cut by Simon at the crystal palace salon for ages now. he's always does a fantastic job with my locks and is a complete hoot to chat to aswell! The lovely Natalie always does a great job on my colour too.
The place has a great atmosphere - cool music and the lovely smells of the Aveda products. It's ace to have somewhere so good to go in crystal palace. I'd highly recommend it!

After moving to London many years ago and trekking back to Cheshire every month for my regular cut and colour due to several bodge jobs down here I took the plunge and tried Willie Smarts in Clapham. You can forget the Rush' and Witches Hut' Until Emma had cut and coloured my hair, only then I realised that I could have different styles with curly hair. Unlike my last stylist had told me that my choices were 'Long and curly or short, that's about it' You see when it comes to hair it's important that you have a style and colour that suits you, and Emma manages to create what you may have thought the impossible.

I have been going to Willie Smarts in Clapham for about 15 years and have always appreciated how they can employ such great professional stylists with very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very laid back and all the staff very friendly, it is not intimidating in the least and there is always a great mix of customers from all ages and styles. The products are organic and although they might seem expensive they do last for ages as you only have to use a little.

Having been a customer at Willie Smarts in Clapham for nearly 8 years I find it amazing that their score isn't higher on this site.
The salon itself is laid back and very friendly and you can enjoy a glass of wine during your appointment. Everyone has always been very helpful and welcoming from Neil on reception through to the junior assistants.

I have been coming regularly to the salon for the last 15 years, and I have always received excellent advice,hair cuts and colour treatments from the stylists. The staff and the owner, Paul, are all exceptionally friendly and helpful, and extremely accommodating.
The salon only uses Aveda products which have a "green" ingredients policy that requires the use of "renewable, sustainable, or organic, plant-based ingredients and non-petroleum...

Lissi usually cuts it (when she was away Cisco took over for awhile and he was also very good) and I have also had Nicola and a couple of other girls to colour it on a regular basis. I'm not normally one to write reviews but having just read a couple of bad reviews of Willie Smarts I had contradict them. I've been going there for 3 years now and have always had a wonderful experience. As a guy I can't really comment on the colouring but I've always come out of there with a great cut. I had an appointment with Louis the Manager at the Crystal Palace shop. He was pleasant enough, but the cut wasn't good. He dried my hair using a diffuser, I have slightly wavy hair, and he didn't texturise the cut. Literally two days later, I have just visited Rush in the City to get it corrected. All in £45.00 for a below average cut, and then a further £57.00 for an excellent correction at Rush.
Don't get swayed by the Aveda products, the manager certainly didn't cut or dry my hair...

It's over priced,untactful and unskilled . It was my first and last time. The hair cut looked liked I fed my hair through a shredder! I had read bad reviews but thought that I'd like to be my own judge; that was a mistake! I've learnt my lesson and I'll be sticking to un-hyped hairdressers. (read more)

I just got back from having my hair cut at Willie Smarts, i have been going there for years and always been more than pleased with the hair cuts and colours. I norally get my hair coloured with Nicola who is fantastic and always gets my colour just how i want it, today i just went for a cut with a new stylist called Vicky who was amazing! she seemed to know exactly how i wanted my hair and gave me a perfect hair cut, she was extreemely poffesional and my hair looks fantastic.Im so pleased... I've been going to Willie Smarts for quite a few years now and have always had an excellent service. The staff are great and the prices are very reasonable.
I've never had to wait and have always had a great haircut. A big up to Carol who has always taken the time to cut my hair as I want it cut, even if my requests have been questionable!!!

Really great haircut, professional and accommodating. Curtis was able to take a mediocre short haircut and make it into something wonderful, one week before my wedding. Talk about nerves! I've been struggling to find my hairstylist after years of exceedingly excellent haircuts in two salons in NYC. I think I might have done so. (read more)

I love the guys at Willie Smarts - Paul, Adrian, Nicola and all. They're friendly but professional, creative but realistic. I have been going to Willie Smarts to get my hair cut and coloured now for the past few years and have always been really pleased with the results. I don't like leaving bad reviews, these people work hard, but please Willie Smarts bosses, take on more staff and/or check your existing ones are happy - it really affects the experience and half the buzz of having your haircut is how it makes you feel, non? Call me sensitive, you may as well since your stylist stopped just shy of calling me a moron, when I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but said I trusted her to cut it so it looks nice. Well my dad owns this salon and i love it. The staff are great and everyone is bubbly go there because it is brilliant. They also do cute little boxes for special occasions. Go there i defenitley reccomend it!!!!
Everyone one is lovley and its in a great spot in clapham dont forget all the products are NOT tested on animals!
And its all natrual products!

I made a booking at Willie Smarts in Clapham Old Town as it close to home. I had booked for a cut and colour and was one of the last appointments of the evening. The whole time I was there my hairdresser talked about her plans for the evening and seemingly rushed to finish cutting my hair which took about 10 - 15 minutes max. I have been going to Willie Smarts for a couple of years now, and really love the salon. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which is very welcoming as it can be difficult finding a salon where one feels really comfortable. I have had several different stylists when my 'own' is unable to cut and colour my hair, which is always done brilliantly and they have all been excellent. After being a loyal customer to Willie Smarts for three years, it seems that they are getting a little big for their boots. My usual stylist left, and I haven't found anyone there who matches up. They always seem to be too busy to greet you when you arrive, I ALWAYS have to wait at least 10-15 minutes, and the last few cuts I've had haven't been what I wanted or specifically asked for.

I had an awful experience at Willie Smarts, Clapham. First of all, my hair was cut badly, but because I thought that the salon seemed friendly, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned to ask if they could rectify this. I had a really good experience at Willie Smarts. I found the staff there really friendly and my stylist didnt rush me when I was a bit indecicive about which cut I wanted. In fact, he talked me through what he thought would suit me most and I was really happy with the results. They had some lovely products but wern't pushy about trying to sell them to me. On the strength of this review I tried Willie Smarts in Crystal Palace - this location works well for me. I requested Louis and was not disappointed!! Very chilled place but highly professional, Louis really knows his stuff. Very pleased with both cut and colour...Louis is a superb stylist and I really feel back to 'me'. He recommended a shorter, slightly lighter style and colour and I'm so pleased I went for his advise. Lovely guy too who takes the time to get the little details right that make the difference. All Aveda products are used so you come away feeling very pampered!!
