Lady who answers the phone is most unhelpful, sarcastic and just rude! We can’t book in for lead reign sessions so how can we become regulars!! Guess you have to be in with the ‘click’

“Horrible customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Damiona1988 on 10/02/2016

Absolutely no communication with the customers. Finding out about price increases when I turn up for a lesson rather than being told the week before is one example. Staff who have been absolutely amazing suddenly disappearing without any notice or explanation to be replaced by incompetent rude staff who have done nothing but damage my confidence as a rider. I used to love coming to this school but since late last year it has gone rapidly downhill and has felt more like a chore. I have left this school and with the way they have treated other people I know I know I'm not the only one. If it becomes the school it once was again I would be quite happy to return but until that time I would recommend avoiding.

I love CRS as it has great facilities and horses. Staff are great and very kind and helpful. Instructors are great and clearly know what there doing. The yard is always clean and looks nice and tidy, range of horses is great although if your small theres not a wide variety you can ride! the cafe is great and serves great food to all cliets and staff. there are lessons for everyone! never had a bad experience there.. love it loads. They also let you borrow boots, body protecter etc.. if you dont have any which is really useful for begginer riders or riders that want to save money...me and my friends love riding there and if your 13+ helping out is so much fun and great! and finally i love the shows they hold i sj and dressage!

“THE BEST RIDING SCHOOL I HAVE FOUND!!”

★★★★★

written by EmilioFitzsimmons on 28/02/2014

I have been to other riding schools and never found a place as good as this. The instructors are professional and friendly as are the yard staff and are always willing to help. The horses are all fabulous who will cater for all abilities and will give you all the confidence you need. I have had confidence issues when it came to jumping but tonight was given the confidence to try and really enjoyed myself. My teacher is great and pushes me to progress whilst also giving me the belief that I can do anything I want to do! I could not recommend Cheshire Riding School more highly!

“Best riding school EVER!!”

★★★★★

written by on 21/04/2013

Ive been riding for about a year but unfortunatley my old school closed down.:( Then I enrolled at Cheshire Riding and it is the most professional set up I've seen, my teacher is so nice and I feel comfortable to ask questions and have a go at anything. After 3 lessons,I was put in front and was leading the whole ride and i felt very confident and safe. The horses are very well cared for and are very gentle. The helpers are friendly and helpful.

I have been riding here with my daughter for nearly two years and while I have tried others we keep coming back. They have some lovely horses that suit all abilities and are as accommodating and friendly as any I have found. The arena is always lovely and bright something not a single other school I have visited can boast the same. The only down side is the hacking is a little limited for experienced riders however if you have the time they go a great 3 hour hack to Marbury.
If you want your little darling to feel safe and secure then this is the place to go!

BEST RIDING ESTABLISHMENT AROUND!!!!!!!!

I have been riding at the stables for about 6 months now and disagree with some of the reviews currently on this review center. i have always had a polite greeting by all members of staff, they have always been helpful and are always happy to give advise when needed.

The standard of the care for the horses is of the greatest standards from what i have seen and selection of horses i have ridden for my lessons i have always been happy with.

Overall the yard is tidy with lots of helpful information in the reception and also helpful information about each horse and what level of rider each one will cater for.I have been to quite a few riding schools before i found cheshire riding school and would never go back.

If you are looking for somewhere fun and friendly with a great selection of horses then cheshire riding school is the place for you.

“cheshire riding school overall is an ok establishment,...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 18/11/2010

cheshire riding school overall is an ok establishment, i have worked in several riding schools and i have horses of my own, i used to be a client and have lessons and hacks, i thought the service was ok, staff where somethimes friendly towards you but had a cant be bothered attitude and foul mouthed around the yard and to other staff and also to the horses. the facilites where ok, membrane up in arenas very dangerous for us clients and horses, indoor very solid and hard, the rest overall good, i think the horses are very good genuine, honest horses i understand they have to do their job but think 3 hours on a row is too much work, when i was riding i was told somedays i couldnt ride as had no horses suitable as about 8 where off work one day, ill or lame or something, i would like to re visit and carry on lessons but not in this state, i liked the overall look of the school and setup.

The school will have a licence with the local council this states that horses/
Ponies can only do 3 hour work per day in a school, in a trekking center its more. If any equine is being use 4 more than the legal lime REPORT the school 2 the council , Rspca, BHS, etc

★★★☆☆

written by any chance on 20/09/2010

On the whole a good riding centre with good facilities. Definitely worth going to.
My children had some lessons there and there were some super safe ponies to look after them and very pleasant instructors.

Being critical a negative point was that every week seemed to be a different instructor. I can understand this may happen but when it is occurring consistently it puts the children's progression on hold as the instructors would not know what they had learnt previously. This isn't great as lessons are expensive.

For the adult rider again some super horses, and good instruction but there is something lacking in the service. There were a couple of times i would turn up for a booked lesson and they were not expecting me, even though it was written down in the day sheet.

I regulary ride at the Cheshire Riding Centre it is by far the best for miles around. I live on the edge of the Wirral and there is nothing to match this riding centre for miles Lovely friendly staff and good horses and ponies, there is a vast amount of land to ride around and the hour hacks are varied in the routes, well worth the 30minute drive to reach it.

Cheshire Riding School Comberbach, Northwich, Cheshire, is a very good, clean professional yard with excellent facillites, enthusiastic staff and generally a very good atmosphere. Wide variety of horses. Only bad point is poor timekeeping on the odd occasion.

I have regular weekly lessons at Bold Heath which have good facilities. However, after checking out Cheshire Riding School's website fancied the idea of hacking out. Have been 3 times over the Christmas period and will definately be going back again. All staff I have dealt with have been very helpful. The horse - Paddy and pony - Beth I have ridden have been lovely and have enjoyed 2 one hour hacks and a 2 hour new year's day hack out to Marbury Park. Our instructor was lovely. Really nice atmosphere and made to feel very welcome. Go along if you get the chance!

“Having ridden and worked at riding schools for the...”

★★☆☆☆

written by grassed off on 20/11/2006

Having ridden and worked at riding schools for the past 16 years, and being a qualified instructor myself, I know the standards to look for.

Although appearing to be glossy and new, the Cheshire Riding School, like the website, is somewhat rough around the edges and lacks professionalism.

On arrival I had to search for a receptionist, whom, when found, had no idea how much I was supposed to pay.

As I had no previous experience of the riding school, I was somewhat shocked to find that I did not have to undertake a riding assessment to ensure that I was at the level I professed to be, and not some client on an ego trip!

I was duly mounted up (on the yard) and joined by an instructor (10 minutes late) who was also mounted, and whisked off to the cross-country fields! All I can say is, it's a good job I can ride! We trotted once around a field, then cantered, then I was told to pop up over a solid wooden 2' 6" 'warm-up' fence. The horse was a genuine type, but got extremely strong, which wasn't helped by the fact that the instructor kept waiting around 400 yards ahead of me, so my horse kept bolting to get to the instructors mount.

Despite the horse obviously getting stronger by the minute, and my lack of control deteriorating, as highlighted by several run-outs, the instructor gave no help what-so-ever, other than 'put your whip in your right hand and hit it on the shoulder' - not at all helpful! The horse who was then so wound up that it wouldn't leave its friend, then began rearing (again no words of wisdom from the instructor).

Thankfully, I am a competent enough rider to deal with strong uncooperative horses, but if somebody more a novice was riding, then I don't think they would have coped.

I disagree with this review because...This review seems completely different from my own experiences at Cheshire Riding School and of the other reviews on here. I had a full assessment when I first attended the school. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Horses excellent.

I have ridden at quite a few centres over the last 15 years and this is the best one I have attended in terms of facilities, horses, friendliness and price of lessons and hacks.

Cheshire Riding is a new purpose built equestrian centre set in 130 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside. It is without doubt the best centre I have ever seen or ridden at.
