VICE 1000 VIDEO STABILIZER
Moving VHS video tapes from VCR player through VICE 1000 to hard-drive recorder very straight forward.
Moving DVD discs from Playstation 2 through VICE 1000 to hard-drive recorder also very straight forward.
The VICE 1000 needed an additional power feed/source to boost terminal eight when transferring DVD's.
Adapter for extra power employed to have an input of 240volt AC with the output of 9volt DC (+ positive) 500Mamp 2.5m/m female jack-plug, which fit's into Vice 1000 scart plug head.Recommended power 200-500Mamps output.
When transfering DVDs, transfer is limited to the film and any subtitles, with no apparent facility to have an interaction with the finished transferred DVD.
No degraded vision and sound, was obvious.
I needed extra scart leads to tailor my various set-ups, but bought cheap ones, which worked fine.

VICE 1000 is a brilliant product easy plug and play.
The only regret I have is that I did not shop around and got ripped off by KTVISION.co.uk who charged me £40. when it is £30. elsewhere,
Be aware.
Cheers

Space saving, does what it says on the tin, great picture quality easy to use. Needed to source power supply as virgin media cable box does not supply power to unit from scart plug I was expecting this however, arrived in a jiffy bag thought it would come in a glossy box price good now only £29.90 gbp
Worth the money I paid still exploring all its uses.- Read Guest's review (68 words and 1 comment)

I am no expert when it comes to electronics, but I wanted to be able to transfer all my old VHS tapes to DVD, and keep up with the times and formats. I knew that my DVD's would be safer and last longer than a VHS tape, which is very easy to damage. And it doesn't seem that one will be able to get VCR's for much longer to view their VHS tapes. I also wanted to be able to record my favourite Sky programs onto DVD, which was not happening beforehand.
I bought my Vice 1000 from sonel.com. I was ...- Read Musashiko's review (356 words and 2 comments)

The Vice 1000 video capture unit is a nicely built little unit, and it is certainly good value for money. Picture quality is excellent - certainly as good as the MacroMaster and MacroBuster products I have tried, possibly slightly better on some sources due to the RGB fully wired SCART.
Instructions are a bit vague; I connected it the wrong way round and only got sound (no picture) but a quick call to www.hit-it.co.uk (where I bought it) tech support got me sorted out and working in no time. ...- Read zoltari's review (148 words)

The VICE 1000 (Video Image Caption Encoder) uses the latest analogue and digital technology to allow caption information to be incorporated into the vertical blanking interval of a video signal. The VBI is approximately 3.2% of the picture area , signals added to the VBI such as Time Coding ,Closed Caption, Teletext and other signals from DVD / VHS Media which are not visible to the viewer. The VICE 1000 can be powered from pin 8 of a standard 21 pin scart connection or alternatively from an ext ...- Read brenting's review (272 words)
