i have just stayed at ty mawr holiday park with my 2 children and my mom and dad, on arrival we were told to collect our keys at 4.00 from the sands club, we waited till 4.00 to find out that there was noone in the sands club to get our keys from, we went back to reception where they said that they had changed their mind nd was giving them out at reception -(lack of communication). The swimming pool was really disgusting could do with pulling down and rebuiding - the entertainment in the club was awful apart from weds night when ther was a comedian on called derek( worth seeing) - the staff at this site are very unhelpful and bad mannered - the only one who ever helped us out was a man who worked in the amusements (great chap thanks) you shouldnt be working there (get out while you can) our caravan was very nice (well could have been if the cleaners had bothered to clean it) i had to clean it first but it was very up to date no I109 if anyones interested - went for a meal in the on site pub staff in there were appauling very rude - all in all the site was clean = caravan was nice but could have been cleaned better, swimming pool disgusting dirty pants and mildew everywhere black bits in the water - would go back if they changed the staff had a new swimmimg pool and just got the grabbers to work

Absolutely worst campsite we have had the misfortune to visit. Rude and ignorant staff, stank of sewage, had security guards move a tent 3ft from the side of our tent when we had gone out - breaking not just law requirements of how far tents should be apart but also what they themselves stated!
Dirty, smelly disgusting toilet and showers even immediately after cleaner had finished.
Really cannot find the right words to describe how utterly appalling Ty Mawr is.
Do not waste your money!! ...

Just returned from a mon-fri break at tymawr. Had two fifteen year olds with us and there was absolutely nothing for them to do. It was all for little kids, sparky which completely did our heads in every night. We used the club over the road which was alot better. The caravan was tidy but for what we paid for 4 days I would have expected a bigger tele like the one in the brochure. The anchorage pub was very run down needs a face lift. Needs internet access and a games room for pS3 and xbox ...

After reading some of the reviews on here, I wonder if they have been to the same Ty-Mawr as myself and my family.
Our caravan was very clean. All the staff we met were great with us. Our 2 young children loved the entertainment and the Adventure playground. We saw a family shouting and swearing at each other one night, but the Security men got them out of the club straight away. The security men were also very friendly Overall, (apart from 2 days rain) we enjoyed Ty-Mawr and will be going back ...

We were a bit worried having read lots of bad reviews about Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Rhyl. The standard caravan was very clean and though old well maintained. The pool was lovely though the changing rooms were dirty. The playground is good for all ages. The on site pub was fine, basic pub grub but it doesnt pretend to be anything else, polite staff and fairly reasonable. There was no entertainment but we did go out of season (April 2009) and were not charged an entertainment fee. The shop was wel ...

i generally thought that Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Rhyl was a bit shabby but we had a good holiday. My children loved the swimming pool and the evening entertainment. Not once were we asked for our entertainment passes at all which to say we paid £5 per person for them was a bit of a rip off !!!! The area was really nice and close enough to other outside activities. The staff weren't particulary enthusiastic overall both entertainment staff and reception staff. The best night of entertainment ...

Me and my two friends, visited this park last weekend. First impressions were good; Friendly welcome in reception etc, we were even allowed to have our caravan key, half an hour early. We paid for an upgrade from standard to silver class, but failed to notice any real difference. In fact, the silver caravan was smaller and more crammed-in than the roomier standard accommodation.
The park is ideally situated as a base to North and Mid-Wales coast and Snowdonia National Park.
    As previously mention ...

A pity how much this site has deteriorated. Unless they screen the people going there a bit more (or ban tents), and find some staff that have a bit of pride in the place then it is going knowhere. A far cry from the Haven site a few years ago.
Not recommended unless it smartens up it's act. Simple!

The park seriously needs to review what sort of people they accommodate. It was full of young groups of people getting drunk until early hours. Was also sick of hearing bad language on site. The park seriously needs to review what sort of people they accommodate. It certainly is not a holiday park to take your kids. I was very appalled. Will never go back.

Caravan was dirty, old food in fridge, tiny tv in gold caravan, not as displayed in brochure that we booked from. There was not enough bedding and pillows for our party. Disturbed every night by noisy drunken holidaymakers coming back to their caravans at all hours. Cheesy entertainment in Sands club with dirty tables and kids running riot. Lots of swearing going on. Total waste of money - will never go there again. Towyn is one long road of amusements and greasy cafes, beach was a litter tip ...

Very clean, child friendly. Bad points, none, unless you count the good old British weather. I read most of these comments the day I was travelling and I was really dreading my holiday. The staff were fantastic, the park was clean. The caravan was also very clean and well looked after. Security very evident. We loved the entertainment, although the bar prices were quite expensive.
I would recommend this park, the Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Rhyl

Arrived to find ourselves in the middle of a row between campers and staff, we were stuck on a static caravan pitch even though we had a touring caravan.
Could not erect an awning as we did not have any grass on our pitch, site was very noisy. We went to North Wales for the 2008 Eisteddfod in which our daughter was competing but after the expierince we had we will not be rushing back.

No good points. Had a nightmare weekend at the caravan (caravan vandalised and a lot of noise at night) bought caravan there 2 months ago and we already regret it?

I don't agree with any of the comments on here unless you all went before it was bought out from Hoeseasons by Park resorts. We have been to several park resorts sites and this and Naze MArine in Essex are by far the best, Ty Mawr being the biggest and with most to do in and around the site. Felt very welcome and my 3 year old daughter loves it and we go 4-5 times a year.

Had a good time at Ty Mawr Holiday Park, stayed in the warren (didn't like the sound of the meadows so tried to get on here). We had a great time, toilets were clean and tidy, pitches were decent, plenty to do onsite for children. Seen other reviews but from what I saw, the place isn't that bad. We've paid well over 20 quid a night in some places we've stayed in that were dire just a field and a loo! So I thought it was worth it. My daughter and her friend both 13 enjoyed themselves. My daughter ...

The Ty Mawr Holiday Park is in a beautiful location but is noisey at night. Some tents were too close together- didn't use the club house etc.

I spent the entire week speaking to other unhappy guests who all hated this park, Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Rhyl. The team are rude and have no desire to please the customer.

Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Rhyl was an absolute nightmare. The place is aesthetically numbing, and generally it is a truly horrible place for a holiday.
