“The good reviews must be fake, go and view and see the...”

Written on: 05/10/2014 by Timothy431 (1 review written)

This place is filthy, horses are depressed and in mucky stables. The whole place smells far worst than any stables should do. The owner is very rude, no doubt they will be under investigation soon. Ignore the good reviews they must be fake, go down and look for yourself, but don't waste your money first… Read Full Review

“Great value for money! ”

Written on: 29/08/2014 by lilindjas (1 review written)

Had to write this review as I had read bad reviews and felt I needed to tell you about our experience. My 10 year old daughter and her friend went for an amazon deal day, The experience was around an hour and half in total. We were greeted by a lovely friendly chatty lady, was introduced to the girl that was to be the girls teacher/guide who was equally as lovely. The girls had a half hour lesson followed by around an hours trek around the roads outside of the riding school. The girls had an… Read Full Review

“put record straight”

Written on: 08/08/2014 by Wren196 (1 review written)

me and loads of friends of a certain age have been riding here for 10 years plus. need to put the record straight 1 these horses are well loved. when they get old they retire not sold on to meat market or anywhere. 2 horses live out in herds which is natural, very few horses live in that's why no bedding down etc 3 if horse unsound vet is called. horses rested.ie he was out of action for 2 years, charlie only just came sound and had awful injury when idiots let loose and he was hurt on… Read Full Review

We had a fantastic time and are planning our next visit there… Read Full Review

“Amazing!”

Written on: 30/06/2014 by Nelson1963 (1 review written)

Me and my sister have been going to matchmoor riding centre since 2013, and we can walk, trot, canter, and jump. The staff are really friendly and so are the horses, the stables are clean and the horses all looked after, and its very cheap to pay for. There are many things to do like riding, cleaning stalls, putting tack on horses, grooming, dressage, jumping, and there is also an annual show that is very popular and a lot of fun. I would recommend this stables to anyone, its amazing!… Read Full Review

“Horrible Experience!!”

Written on: 28/06/2014

Booked Matchmoor for my daughter's 7th Birthday party. The owner was rude and insulting to guests and parents. Inexperienced riders were forced to ride horses with no guide and there was not enough food to go round. Everything was too much trouble - even a request for a knife to cut the birthday cake was met with 'tuts' and 'huffs'. My daughter said it was the worst birthday party she has ever had! Do not recommend… Read Full Review

Had a fantastic afternoon via Amazon deal. My daughter and I used to ride elsewhere but owing to work commitments could not always arrange a lesson, decided to try Matchmoor and found the staff extremely helpful, informative and friendly. Horses were brilliant and a pleasure to ride. Can't wait to go back… Read Full Review

I have been riding at match moor for over 7 years and now I am 12. I would recommend match moor to any body ,most of all people under 16. The over thing is that the horses and the staff are really good. The horses are really good to ride they are also good friends. You start of with something easy and build your way up to outstanding rider. Like i said before i would recommend match moor to overs… Read Full Review

“Should be shut down and reported to the RSPCA”

Went to matchmoor on a groupon deal which I assume groupon do not vet their offers. The owner has no customer service skills and is extremely rude. The whole place is appallingly dirty and unkept. The horses are in their own filth and depressed. Do not go to this stables.!!!!… Read Full Review

“best stables in greater manchester :)”

Written on: 07/04/2014 by kqCunningham442 (1 review written)

I have been riding at matchmoor for 5 years. all of the staff are really friendly and they don't force people to do things if they don't want to do it. I look forward to going every week. I could do walk, trot, canter and jumping after I had only been riding for 3 years. the horses are really well behaved and they are a dream to ride. I have been helping out for the past couple of years and I have learnt everything that I know today. every one at the stables are really patient and they don't… Read Full Review

“Terrible”

Written on: 24/03/2014 by _phoenix_ (1 review written)

I attended this 'riding centre' in January with a group of my friends for a pre-booked lesson and hack. The yard itself was extremely unkempt and the horses stables were very dirty, a lot of the horses were standing in their own muck with little to no bedding to be seen. When we spoke to a member of staff regarding our pre-arranged lesson and hack they seemed to have no record of us or our abilities despite being told this over the phone. The whole place comes across as very disorganised and… Read Full Review

bought Christmas presents for my daughter, mother and myself, arrived at 12.45 for 1.00oclock lesson and trek. owner very abrupt and after waiting till after 1 to get my horde we were off the horses and back in the car for 1.30. when I look on my email it should of been 1/2 lesson in the ring and a hour trek on the country side. My mother unfortunately had a panic attack and so could not go on although the lad did try. When I look at my booking again we were suppose to have a one to one lesson… Read Full Review

“best riding school ever!!!!”

Written on: 29/03/2013

I love this place and have been riding here for 4 years. I can now do walk trot and canter and some jumping. The staff and the horses are really friendly. I am glad that I learnt to ride here and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The stables can be a little messy at busy times but is mostly because the staff don't have the time. I help out most Sundays and since I started helping I have learnt so much more about horses and how to look after them. I would definitely recommend this place to… Read Full Review

“I love this place!”

Written on: 26/11/2012 by Leahallcock (1 review written)

I started riding at Matchmoor in 2003 and I have never regretted learning there. I moved from somewhere in Westhoughton that wasn't very nice but as soon as I got here I felt at home. Everybody is so welcoming and all the horses are so friendly! I don't think I disliked anything about it during my time here. Even my mum started riding here with me! Our favourite teacher was Australian Sarah although everyone at the farm were delightful! I miss this place so much but I definitely recommend… Read Full Review
