Good Points: It is very fast on a wave, and will carve easily. The rails are very low (surf board style).
Bad Points: The outfitting is rubbish, the back rest will break in minutes and the foot rest is a heel rest so you can't pump for added power via the ball of your feet. The thigh hookers are sharp and don't give any extra brace.
General comments: Drago Rossi Squashtail - This kayak is a great deisign if you only want to surf kayak in the sea on waves upto 6 foot, they are no good on rivers or play holes. They come with no instructions of how to set them up and are poorly made for the price. They don't come with any floatation aids and will sink if you swim. They also struggle on flatter waves.
The mega hype from the manufactures and importers doesn't transfer to the product and in my opinon they aren't worth the price asked.
The after sales support in rubbish and does not match the quality they project.
My advice is to buy from the proven manufactures until they sort their act out.
If you only have funds for one kayak / canoe and want to get it right as an all rounder, this is not the boat for you.
If however you only want to surf kayak on up to 6 footers, this is a great boat, but do expect a long wait for delivery and expect to put some time and money into makeing the outfittng anything close to the job.
