I was looking for a parcel delivery company for sending 3 standard 25 kg boxes to Turkey. I spent plenty of time searching for a company that would make the door-to-door transfer of these boxes for the cheapest price possible. Interparcel found the best rate with the Parcelforce service. Sent clothing item for repair and return to India. There is not enough clarity in how the labels and declarations for insurance and customs should be done. We ended up paying Indian Customs Duty and Taxes which was more than the cost of sending the parcel. Would have been cheaper for the repair to be done locally. Customer service did not understand my questions AND I had to chase repeatedly for responses. They told me to get the refund from Indian Customs. (read more)

My parcel was picked up as agreed but arrived with the contents badly damaged, even though they had been packaged in a strong box and wrapped in bubble wrap. The parcel must have been dropped from a great height to attain this level of breakage. When I complained I was told that the contents were "prohibited" and nothing could be done although they apologised for the damage. I have complained twice and received no satisfaction at all. The first time I used the service UPS were the chosen carrier. No problem all went well and the fee was very reasonable. The second time I used Inter parcel I selected TNT as the carrier and from there on in it was almost a total disaster. All documentation was processed and confirmed before the 1330 cut off time that claimed collection would be the same day (Monday). No one came. Reserved a collection with City Link via Interparcel which was a reasonable deal. City Link proceeded to mess up the collection and delivered my item to the opposite side of the country ! However, to be fair customer services at Interparcel were able to very quickly resolve the problem with City Link and my item was rerouted within a few hours. I've used Interparcel 3 times. Their regular service using UPS is very good value compared to some alternatives. The packages seem to have been well handled & the items got there as they left me. Last time I underestimated the weight of the parcel & I was able to phone, speak to a real person, cancel the collection, which was fully refunded & then rebook for the next day. I had to send a garden plaque to a customer and contacted interparcel. I filled out all the gumph which goes with delivery including exactly what the item was. However, somewhere deep in the bowels of the T&C's, it seems that interparcel will not accept any responcibility if said item gets damaged. I wrapped the plaque in copious amounts of bubble wrap, then added a stiff cardboard cover which I assumed would suffice. I obviously had nt taken into account the type of moronic drivers that... Shipped an item to family in Norway - took an a g e to arrive. When investigated, Fedex had got involved and sat on the parcel for days and then charged my family shipping charges to release the item. My parcel was an item that I had sold on e-bay. It was incredibly easy to organise postage with interparcel. I wrapped it up, weighed it, paid for the postage and printed the label out at home, then all I had to do was drop it off as the designated collection point, a local newsagent, and that was that! I sent a parcel properly packaged with fragile written across it. It arrived in pieces & I was told it was on their list of at owners risk list. I explained I had taken out their insurance to cover the item to which they told me the insurance did not cover items on the at owners risk list. Why have the insurance then. There should be a duty of care by employees & negligence should be rectified. I repeat the item was very well packaged & could only have been damaged it treated very roughly. (read more)
