I bought one of these based on general information on the internet. What made my mind up was the review by gun mart on you tube.Went direct to Combro's website filled out the purchase forms etc.Within and hour they called me to ask for my postcode(which i had forgotten to submit)Whilst on the phone the very friendly chap asked if i had any questions about the unit and told me that this bit of kit works best on a .22 recoiless air gun.Perfect,i have a HW100 so just the job.He went on to... After fitting the combro to my Weihrauce HW80 I was very dissapointed to find the plastic dovetail parts of the chrono had broken off after putting just 7 pellets through the gun. There would appear to be a lack of strength in the plastic at this point to cope with the kickback on some springer rifles. I've given this item an overall rating of 3 because of this fault, however I would recommend the combro as it would no doubt work fine on PCP and Co2 guns. I will be contacting the company for... Hello, 1 Problem: Combro 625 is made from transparent dark or blue plastic. Because during the day the sun light outside is much more stronger then diode light inside (also in the shadows) - measuring doesn't work (work only inside) .... to correct this problem you need to cover upper part with black tape. 2 Problem: Mechanically after 1 shot with 16J gun brake holder between the barrel and front part with computer and display via back kick of the gun (tested with e.g. Hatsan 55S) ... Many air guns do not achieve their potential due to lack of power. In many cases this can be cheaply/easily corrected. The other problem is that some lighter pellets can put guns over their legal limit, 12 foot pounds for a rifle, 5 for an air pistol. The main problem in many cases is not achieving the legal limit and a consequent poor performance. The way to test the footage being delivered is to fire a pellet through a Chronoscope. This reads the speed of the pellet and converts it to foot... (read more)

Firstly the legal limit for an air pistol is 6 ft pounds and not 5 as was stated. Also this review seems to be a "sales pitch/advert" rather than a review. I would urge shooters something far more accurate than this. These only give a "rough guide" and are not that accurate.

Extra gravitational pull? where does this come from? The force of gravity remains the same no matter which way you shoot, the angle that the chrono is at may have an effect on readings, but this is nothing to do with gravity. Lighter pellets do not increae the foot pounds of a gun, they just travel faster. This man has no idea of ballistics.

I bought a combro over twelve months ago and it has given excelent service. Proving very accurate when tested against friends more expensive devices. Just over a week ago the combro developed a fault after ringing I was told to return it by free post. The faulty part was replaced plus new sun filters fitted all free of charge and within seven days of me returning it. Excellent product and a second to none after sales service. (read more)

I got the mk4 from combro with the interface and alignment tool.
if you have usb only computer you will need a 9 pin serial to usb converter. the alignment tool also has a built in led torch.
on the cronoscope.com webpage is the software to download plus some other useful information :- repair vids, calibration values, online converters for calibration and a power - velocity calculator. fits parallel barrels, silencers only.
£56.40 in total is better than however may years it is this...

This ComBro CB 625 Mk 4 Air Rifle Chronograph is truly one of those things you REALLY cannot do without!
It is easy to set up after removing from its packing - simply undo the battery hatch, insert the supplied batteries,do it up, turn it on and way you jolly well go. Attaching it to your rifles barrel or silencer is simplicity itself, all you do is secure the chrono bracket with an elastic band and then attach the chrono to the bracket. This chrono tells you your power output in foot pounds...

This is a post script to mention the fact that i have noticed that where the price for the interface lead is mentioned, i have hit the $ key instead of hitting the £ key!

So please read "£8.95p" instead of thinking in Dollars.

I found this review helpful because... it specifies all you need to know, plus a good price guide. I've seen these selling for £56 without any extras. Most gun shops seem to have sold out, so being able to go to the manufacturer is a bonus.

There was a known fault with some of the plastic mouldings, this has since been rectified. If you return the broken Combro they will fit a new case to it! I have used mine successfully on a variety of spring and gas ram powered rifles!
