Bought it and have not had a problem, I even taught my wife to fire it. The Remington Model 710 is leightweight, cheap and well made.
Don't care for the all gear stock, could have come in a better color, like black, or a dark green

I've heard a lot of people rag on this rifle and I guess since Rem replaced it with the 770 it must have had some issues. I sometimes have problems getting a second shot to chamber on the range. Having said that,I've never needed one when hunting. I have taken down moose with this rifle and a caribou at well over 300 yards. I don't shoot or hunt all that often and so far the Remington 710 has given me good service.

I have no problems whatever in bringing down deer and hogs at most any hunting distance. Although I had my doubts whether the inexpensive scope would be up to the task, I have been very pleased and probably would never replace it unless I get the chance to buy a Shepherd Scope at a reasonable price for precise distance shooting.

After buying this rifle as an entry level gun, I have found that it is more gun than I expected.
After re-entering the hunting sport from a 25 year lay off (and getting rid of my former rifles) I went for the cheap but sought a good name in Remington. The purchase has turned out to be a good one. The 270 model 710 is perfect for deer and wild hog hunting. The factory bore sighting wasn't worth a hoot but after getting the rifle sighted at 100 yards it performed well until the next trip to the ...

This is a good rifle if you don't mind lugging it around all day. And it pays off at the end of the day when you only have to make one shot and not tear up the meat on whatever you are tring to kill by shooting it a couple of times.

I own Winchesters, Tikkas, Savages, Remingtons - OK I have at least one of everything including a Weatherby. Before I bought this gun I had never used any scope other than a Leupold, Burris (junk) or Zeiss. I was upgrading the kid's deer rifle on a whim, fell in love with the Dick's SG Special Edition olive drab synthetic stock on the 710, and bought a 270 along with the 243. Needless to say, for less than I paid for my Zeiss Conquest scope, I got the entire package. And I am impressed. Kudos to ...

Remington Model 710 caliber 270 - Please don't compare this rifle to the 700. In fact, it may be Remington's worst move to marry the two with such close numbering, because although this rifle is tied to the 700 legacy through marketing, it's not in the same class.
That said however, it's an amazing rifle for less than $400 street price. In that price range, you can only choose the classic garand styling, or muzzle loaders, or perhaps compromise by going lever-action to get a decent rifle. Th ...
