In .270 cal, I have a wonderful gun for the money, first thing was to have the trigger jeweled and the pull is now at 1 1/2 lbs, replaced the 3x9x40 with a DOA 3x12x40 and am able to shoot out to 600 yards. Winchester 130 gain Silvertip Ballistics are within 1/2 inch MOA at 100 yards in a quick 3 shot grouping. Considering these changes make it a "custom" rifle to me and I will take any shot at a pig or a whitetail with anyone...300 yards or longer is not an issue, it isn't the rifle folks, it ...

I am a gunsmith for the United States Army. I purchased a Remington Model 710 300 Win Mag. from Gander Mountain in Canton,Ohio back in 2007, I love the gun! I hear a lot of bad things about them but it's a know fact that if you maintain your firearms they WILL NOT fall apart and WILL perform when you want them to. I have maintained mine for the last 2 or 3 years keeping it oiled and cleaning it very frequently. The gun performs far beyond my expectations. It was purchased for $350.00 out the doo ...

The Remington Model 710 chambered in 270 is a great all purpose rifle! I have compared some ballistic charts to the 30-06 and taken both to the field ,and the 270 has a greater range in my opinion. Not taking anything away from the 30-06, but I like the 270 better! They both are great rifles! So go out and get one, you won't be sorry!

I purchased this Remington Model 710 caliber 270rifle in .270 after my other hunting weapon was stolen. With a kid in college, I could no longer afford a Browning or a Ruger, so I took what I could get. I have been a shooter for 40 years, reloader for nearly that long, and I find the gun shoots fine. Truthfully, I don't understand the negative press on the rifle. Don't buy it and expect a custom built look or performance! I don't buy a Ford expecting to get a Lexus! I took a very nice blac ...

i like the factory setting on the trigger you know when it is goin to go off. The Remington Model 710 caliber 270 comes very accurate rite out of the box. it looks better if you put a camoflauge sling. i would recomend shooting federal premium vital shok at 180 grain. i have had better results with it.

My brother in law bought this rifle used on a whim. I shot it the next day without any sight adjustments and shot pattern was withing 1". I would definitely recommend this gun to anyone wanting a cheap and accurate rifle.

Great kill distance, easy to shoot. Decent recoil, accuracy both cold bored and hot bored (as long as the shooter can compensate), Easy to load

Lightwieght and fairly accurate. Its also cheap which is always a good thing. I would recomend it to anyone. The only thing i dont like about it is the color. It should be black or dark green.

I love it. The Reminton 710 is lightweight, easy to fire, bthere's no bad recoil and its very powerful. I dont think that the colour is bvery good, maybe camo or black would have been better but thats the only thing I would change.

Bought it and have not had a problem, I even taught my wife to fire it. The Remington Model 710 is leightweight, cheap and well made.
Don't care for the all gear stock, could have come in a better color, like black, or a dark green

I've heard a lot of people rag on this rifle and I guess since Rem replaced it with the 770 it must have had some issues. I sometimes have problems getting a second shot to chamber on the range. Having said that,I've never needed one when hunting. I have taken down moose with this rifle and a caribou at well over 300 yards. I don't shoot or hunt all that often and so far the Remington 710 has given me good service.

I have no problems whatever in bringing down deer and hogs at most any hunting distance. Although I had my doubts whether the inexpensive scope would be up to the task, I have been very pleased and probably would never replace it unless I get the chance to buy a Shepherd Scope at a reasonable price for precise distance shooting.
