117k so far. AA recovered 5 times. 2 turbos.1 boost valve. 2 sets gear cables. Driveshaft. Catalyst. Master cylinder and slave cylinder. 2 pipes to gearbox. Back in at Dealers again, no clutch and low power from turbo. Don't even let someone give you a Vivaro for free!!!!!!!!!!

I have been running a Vauxhall Vivaro swb 1.9CDTI since 2005 (54 plate), fitted with 6 speed manual gearbox. The gearbox has developed a serious oil leak which appears to be coming from the breather pipe mounted on top of the gearbox housing. In cold weather both reverse and second gears are difficult to select, but no problems in warm weather! Like many other reviews here, my van has done only light work and has just covered 40,000 miles. My local independent garage has recommended a reconditi ...

I thought my Vauxhall Vivaro 1.9DTi LWB was great, fitted new stereo to get bluetooth and speedo stopped,as it happens all systems are connected and getting it done was a nightmare,if i leave van unused for any more than 5-6 days then battery goes flat and now my alternator has melted,i thought i had an engine fire.not have this much longer.had 3 ldv convoys and thought they were bad, they are simple and basic and easy to fix.would not buy another vauxhall, not a quality product.

This is a poorly designed van as there are no armrests because of angle of door/window design, and instruments are blocked due to angle of steering with airbag, which means you cannot see the fuel low warning light.
When viewing rear of van through door mirrors the stupid curves of the van detract from judging parking distances. Washer bottle is hidden well below the offside wing which means you have to put water and screen wash into a 2ltr plastic drinks bottle.

My Vauxhall Vivaro has been the most unreliable van I have ever had. At just 43,000 miles first breakdown got towed of motorway to a diesel spiecalist (who at first refused to even look at the van) after telling him he a been recomanded by a freind he told me to leave it with him. This is what he found all of the injectors where broke, at which point he told me about one of the common faults number 1 injector welds itself to the cylinder head. Got a phone call of him day after he couldnt get the ...

If you need a van buy a transit trust me. Van is 3 years old this month and has had 2 new gear boxes and is in garage just now getting its 2nd clutch, its only done 42000 miles! 2nd gear box took 8 weeks to fit and nearly put me out off business, The van has never done any heavy work and has spent more time in the Vauxhall garage than my own!

A badly built vehicle that should never have been put on the road, also the vauxhall movano has a gearbox differential fault, unacceptable to try and sell these as a reliable vehicle for someone self employed.

Beware, do no assume that because youve had it for one year or so everything is rosy, just wait and see, and keep your bank balance topped up, Renault, Vauxhall know theres a fault, but obviously wont admit it, save your money buy a reliable van buy a Transit, its where I'm going next.

Great Vans, much better to drive than an a Transit, you dont feel like you've stepped back into the early 80's when you get in the Vivaro, unlike a Transit!. The gearbox & clutch in my vivaro lasted 142,000 miles!, and its never missed a beat before hand.
A brand new uprated gear box/clutch/slave cylinder & release bearing is £2,205 fully fitted by a main dealer.

The Vivaro is reliable, great to drive barring lots of gear changes, have done 32654 mile gust gone in for 2nd service, gearbox fault found, this is being replaced FOC due to being within warrenty, needs a new clutch though, service at my dealer fantastic.

I've been told that new gear boxes have weak bearings if a recon unit had been fitted this would not have happened a problem that Vauxhall, Renault and Nissan won't admit to it.
