We used the Bishop Auckland branch of Reeds Rains in 2012 The customer experience was fairly good, well to start with anyway...... the first impressions were good the viewings were good the customer care willingness and helpfulness of the staff was all a good standard. The problems came when we signed for a letting property they have a charge for EVERYTHING even the agents were blushing at some of the charges What really annoyed us was that they tried to tie us into suppliers etc They featured on BBC's Watchdog program over the issue of forcing customers to sign up to Spark Energy as they did with us. We ignored this and changed suppliers anyway we would not be bullied into using a supplier we did not want. Spark energy took money for 3 months even though we were now registered with Scottish power and paying them - anyway we won the battle there and eventually got all the money back. After our initial six month tenancy our landlord contacted us and asked if we were happy with reeds rains as he also felt they were charging him ridiculous charges. We ditched Reeds Rains after the six months and came up with our own agreement as neither of us wanted to be ripped off any more than we had to be by the Greedy Agents First Impressions & Viewing 10/10 Customer Service Levels 8/10 Admin fees & charges 3/10 Knowledge & Skill of staff 8/10 Hand over of keys move in 7/10 Sort of Average would use them again if I had to but would prefer to use a company that focused more on customers than greed

The two women who came round to value my house and sign me up I did not see again and am not even convinced they worked for Reeds Rains. The camera was faulty but they did come back and take some photographs towards the end of the contract period. They did not put a for sale board up or show any interest in doing so. They did bring a few viewers but none of them appeared to have any interest in buying the house and seemed more interested in my possessions. The staff often tried to get me to lower the valuation and made derogatory remarks about the property and even my possessions. However they did seem busy and interested and I have encountered worse estate agents in my attempts at selling this house.
