“Taylors, tricksters circus!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hiba1986 on 28/02/2023

Absolutely the worst estate agent I have ever used! They are only professional when they stand to get commission out of you upon renting a property. I rented a flat in watford from Feb 22 to Jan 23 & in the beginning, they bent over backwards to make sure I rented the property & kept asking me for google reviews. I dealt with an agent initially. When my tenancy was due to come to an an end, they then became aggressive & incredibly unprofessional. It is clear that when there is no commission to be made, all humanity goes out the window!!! I was given no notice for when the property was put back on the market. Agent claimed he had spoken to me to advise me of the updates & and viewings, but he definitely had not. As he then realised he made a mistake, instead of saying sorry - he then went on to verbally abuse & patronise me because the times he had organised without my consent for viewings did not suit. I complained to head office after he put the phone down on me & was verbally abusive to the point I was left in tears. Head office did nothing & refused to take the matter further. I was simply told that they would deal with it in house which in other words means, they will do nothing! Saqab Rafiq then took over the viewings who was just as bad! He arranged viewings with possible tenants & simply turned up with them at the door without notifying me whenever he felt like it! There was no 24-hour hour notice & pleaded at the door to be let in. He also informed me that he had heard the conversation between me & the agent & told him it was wrong but that I would never receive an apology. The deposit was the final nail in the coffin as they held onto it unnecessarily. I waited the contractual 10 days after I left the property early to help them out and heard nothing! I had to hound them via email on numerous occasions. They blamed the landlord for the delay, which was completely untrue as i had to contact her myself for proof. I then received it 28 days after I had left the property. They are a bunch of budget cowboys, to say the least, and they need shutting down! DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH OR COMPANY!!!!!

“Appalling to both Landlord and a perfect Tenant”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AustinHastings337 on 02/01/2023

IF YOU ARE A LANDLORD who wants an agent who will be untruth to you, fail to follow up on commitments, fail to look after keys (or replace them when they lose them), treat the most patient, reliable and helpful tenants one could wish for with indifference, laugh at them and ignore or dismiss their requests for help, fail to keep you informed of any issues regarding the property including that the heating didn't work for a year whilst doing nothing to get it fixed, use no sign of due diligence in sourcing a replacement appliance - just take the first quote they can get - be rude and patronising to you, not keep you informed of neighbouring issues affecting the tenant(attempted break-in, drug taking in other flats and murder!), and who make appointments and then fail to keep them. And then when you finally, out of despair, write to the CEO to try to get attention, you want to be ignored three times… Then Taylors Countrywide Bletchley is the Agent for you. AS A TENANT, if you want an agent who won't respond to your requests for support when required, or needs multiple chase ups; or who forces you to spend your own money to get things fixed because the agent doesn't inform the Landlord. Who requires you to take time off work to suit their agenda then fails to turn up, or does so and talks down to you; which will pass the buck amongst the other staff rather than actually manage an issue effectively: leave you without heating for a year while blaming and bad-mouthing the Landlord who hadn't been informed of the problem. And who will come to the property on the pretext of a discussion about your dissatisfaction and use it as a way to nose around the property uninvited, despite not informing you of the intent to 'do an inspection'. Then Taylors Countrywide is the Agent for you. We let the property (a ten year old apartment in a modern development) on the basis of wanting good tenants (the only thing Taylors has done well to find) and to retain them by being immediately responsive to any faults - we never quibble the cost, just trust the agents to make sensible purchases on our behalf and engage reputable tradespeople. And to keep us informed of what is going on as originally, we didn't want to have direct contact with tenants. We are the easiest of landlords to deal with, one imagines. Our current tenant has been particularly fantastic - she and a friend have been residents for 5 years and both had a difficult employment time during COVID, yet not once did they not pay their rent on time, never even asked for any assistance. We found out eventually that they had been left without heating for many months and had suspicions that we were being blamed for not fixing it and made direct contact with the tenant who was relieved to know us. The tales of appalling service and attitude, deception and bad treatment were astounding. We engaged directly with the branch manager ('all mouth and no action' would be a suitable description for him and then the Regional Manager (note the title 'manager' in this company is an oxymoron). Both lied to us, the Regional Manager patronised us and talked down to us. Watch out for her 'cut me and I bleed Coutrywide' devotion. I can't begin to express strong enough disgust(dissatisfaction is too soft a word) about Taylors Countrywide. It is an organisation that is appalling in our experience from the top (CEO) to the bottom in Customer Care (whether landlord or tenant). Needless to say, we have now changed agents. Recomend to a friend? I wouldn't recommend them to an enemy!

We sold and brought from Taylor's estate agents Kingswinford, all staff were professional, helpful and approachable. They made a very stressful situation a lot easier. If we had any concerns they responded quickly and efficiently. We will definitely recommend to family and friends

“Appalling in every way”

★☆☆☆☆

written by HLW00 on 02/11/2019

* Took 4 months to fix a broken oven * Took 10 months to fix a fence that had completely collapsed because of the weather * Took 3 months to fix our leaking kitchen * We had to be temporarily re-housed due to a condemned boiler * Water comes up through the patio floor and they had the cheek to say it was caused by us * their letters are so poorly written (says tenants names 10 times with no spaces, address is written 4 times and covers a single page. It’s clearly automated and not proof read) By far the most unprofessional letting agent I’ve ever dealt with. Avoid like the plague

“poor and unscruplous letting service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 01/11/2019

I had a bad experience recently with Taylors of Roath, Cardiff. They recommended prospective tenants to my property with 2-3 red flags on their refrences & background checks. When declined to accept their recommendations on the the gounds of my risk assessment, got nasty with bad behavior. staff and manager are poorly trained with unethical business practice. Opinion: Best avoid them.

“don't use these agents”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ljMacKay183 on 06/09/2017

Do not use these agents to rent in swindon. They are not picky in the properties they rent out. You wouldn't keep a dog in some of them. You inform them of any problems and maintenance issues and then they lie and say you haven't told them and attempt to charge you for things that you have not done or have informed them about. Any issues they do attend to are done poorly. They do not get you to sign inventories. When you leave they then say the poor state of the property is your fault when it was like it before you moved in. They let themselves into your property without prior arrangement. Overall very shoddy and very underhand in all aspects of their dealings. Do not use

“Truly dreadful agents”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/05/2017

They overstated value to get us to use them. Three "it's Sold" deals fell through. Thanks to Taylors we lost another property we wanted. The final "buyer" with CCJs (zero chance of mortgage) fell through so we sacked Taylors and appointed Orchid of Tring who sold it first time for top money to fully qualified buyers. Taylors had sold us a Bronze Marketing Plan at start for £239 which they refused to refund "because we asked for it" yeah right. Clearly a money-making scheme as far as we were concerned given what we endured with them. Six months following the move we got around to claiming the refund through small claims from parent company Countrywide. They ignored CCJ. We escalated claim to Enforcement. Ignored again. Finally we paid for and appointed bailiffs to show up at Countywide's head office in Milton Keynes and they were forced to settle. We got all our money including all our costs. I would dearly have loved to have been there when the bailiffs showed up seeing as how the branch manager in Hemel Hempstead said "you will never get your money". Since then we've bought two others properties for buy to let investments and the first thing we check is does any firm we might have to deal with have any connection to this bunch. If so we show them the door. Terrible firm of chancers whose aim in life seems to be to get you signed up and chuck a load of unqualified punters at you in the hope someone might buy. They also failed on two occasions to show up to meet potential buyers. Awful eye opening experience.

“Taylor's lost my property documents”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hickman106 on 23/09/2016

As prospective landlord I supplied property documents to be photocopied by Taylor's. These documents have been lost by the Mermaid Quay Office. The staff have been very unhelpful in resolving the issue and are simply avoiding my calls and failing to get back to me. Very poor service.

“Tenant renting via Cardiff Bay Branch”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Trinity335 on 10/08/2016

Extremely disappointed from the word go. Letting the property was a shambles, leading to a series of last-minute paperwork demands and us wondering on the day we were moving, sitting in the van to drive from Scotland to Cardiff, if we would be allowed to move in. No offer of compensation for the hotel we had to stay in as a result of the delay in them giving us this information. Upon arrival, property was in an unfit state, garden untended for years, nails and holes in the walls, cleaning not done (though they claim it was done 2 days before move-in - a toilet black with limescale, a futon covered in a layer of dirt, unclean carpets, layers of dust and cobwebs say otherwise, or at least indicate incompetence), not to mention the state of the cooker wiring and various repairs and junk that was left in the house and garden. These were things our viewing representative was told would 'of course' be resolved before we moved in, and contract cleaners were due etc etc. Landlord claims property was 'sold as seen' apparently, but it was certainly not, and I'm wondering when he last saw the state it has been allowed to get in to. In attempting to get this attended to 6 weeks have passed and the phrase 'we'll get back to you as soon as possible' has never meant less - seriously, it means literally nothing. Every time it is said I know it to be a lie, and I have not been proven wrong. (In fact, reading landlord reviews I'm amazed they get away with this on both ends! LANDLORDS, they are taking your money and not looking after your property!!!) My emails are ignored, or replied to a week and a half later, not even responding properly to the contents. Every time I phone I get a different person who can do nothing. Having come from a property run by a lovely agency (Town and Gown in Fife) who I am still in contact with regarding deposit return etc. I am seeing a stark difference in the level of attentiveness and care. Now, I don't know if it's because we are young people (early 20s) and therefore can be taken advantage of with ease, or if the agency is overworked and underpaid. I don't know whether it is true ignorance or bare-faced lies, but as tenants we feel ignored, undervalued, strung-along and patronised. No dates have yet been set to address our issues, which we reasonably expected to be resolved within a week or two at the most. It's not good enough, not by a long shot. And I swear, if we get a cleaning bill at the end of our tenancy I will have a jolly good laugh.

“Taylors Estate Agents Watford”

★☆☆☆☆

written by pxMcNally1971 on 25/06/2016

Taylors Estate Agents in Watford part of Country Wide are the worst agents I have come across. They are immoral, unethical and a bunch of liars. I was intially supposed to view rockwell court, but on the day was told that the offer was accepted and cannot view. i was then sent to view Flat 9 Omega Court, The Gateway, Watford WD18 7HG, I placed an offer, at which point I was told I need come to their offices to verify myself as Raymond The maanger told me the reason for this was so that they know i am a genuine buyer and not wasting time. My offer got accepted a sale memorandum was sent out.based. Raymond said that they need my lawyer details so that can can they state that the property is sold subject to contract. Once this was forwarded. I paid and booked for a surveyour. only to be told a day later that they have recieved an higher offer. When asked why was this possbile on this property and not on the other no answer was provided. I had asked Warren to speak to the manager and revert back , he said he will call me back in five minutes. I didn't hear anything from Warren so called the office again only to be told by Scott that Warren is very busy on the other line.. i spoke to Scott for about 45 mins and asked him 15/20 times if he could transfer me to Warren, I was told he is still on the phone and cannot come online. i used another phone to call the office again, only for Warren to pick up the phone within two rings. But Scott refused to transfer any calls to Warren. While on the phone with Scott i called the officeanothe r3 times each time Warren picked the phone but he was refusing to talk to me and scott was refusing to transfer the call to Warren. they are very unprofessional and would not recommed them to any one.

“Terrible customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by HywelDavies on 10/05/2016

I've rented my property in Cardiff Bay through Taylors for just under two years now. They were very good at finding initial tenants although the after sales service has been disgraceful. My tenants have consistently been in arrears and I'm having to chase Taylors almost on a monthly basis for rent payments. (Being based overseas this is very annoying). They consistently ignore your emails and the chance of being called back is slim to none. Despite the promising start, I'm very disappointed and regret letting my property through them. I 100% would not recommend them. Use Taylors at your peril.

We have experienced exactly the same as you have and wish we'd read reviews before. With that person at the helm it's no wonder the after sales service is so appalling. The man clearly has zero interest in the owners and reneges on almost every assurance!

We had bad experience too. Tried to get them to come and value property we need to sell. Bloke didn't even turn up. That was the Kingswood Branch in Bristol. Zero interest there then. Glad we have made alternative arrangements. Couldn't trust an estate agent that doesn't even bother to turn up for the valuation.

“Pathetic letting agent”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tyler124 on 22/03/2016

I personally warn anybody who wish to rent through Taylor lettings. I have rented my apartment through Taylor lettings from past 2 years and they have worst property management. Any problem at my apartment is not addressed at time. Can you imagine boiler and heater not being fixed ever after 3 weeks of complaining they are not working. How can anyone survive without heater or hot water in winter with 10 month old baby. Property management does not have smallest curtesy for baby. Never ever let with Taylor's. They will make you suffer

“Stevenage Branch”

★★★★★

written by ThompsonSF on 14/02/2016

What a fantastic bunch. Without him reading our anxieties, advising us to speak to another agent, we probably wouldn't have had the courage to consider moving. Thank you for your professionalism, insight and observation of us who had lived in our house for 32 years. Now nothing is too much trouble. She calmed us down when things didn't go to our plan and was always there when we needed her. A fantastic manager and advocate for us. They have great sellers, bringing interested buyers into our home and they must have had the gift if the gab by selling our home twice and in such a short time line. We would certainly choose Taylor's if we get in the position of wanting to sell our home again (maybe in 32 years time!). We are already recommending them to friends who may consider moving. Now here we are just waiting a moved date.

“Shocking ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Sharoncullum1 on 05/02/2016

I rented a property from Taylors in Swindon, I had no end of problems with this property, faulty and illegal electrics and a faulty boiler that for the most part did not work, so ok its ok to have issues with a property but what isn't ok is to then be ignored by Taylors and the maintenance are of their company for weeks at a time, all the while no hot water and no heating. They did eventually send a plumber to look at a pressurised boiler , why ?? The plumber couldn't fix it and then I had to wait another two weeks for a heating engineer who also couldn't fix it as the problem was not the boiler but the antiquated pipework and radiators that the landlord didn't change/upgrade when the boiler was installed, so the maintenance company decided to just ignore the problem for the remaining months of my tenancy, as a result I decided to leave early which they agreed to as long as I paid 300 re marketing fee which I was happy to pay, however I had made it quite clear that because I had not had any hpt water or heating I was not going to apy the last two weeks rent, as a tenant I did not have access to the basics my tenancy agreement advised I was entitled to, Taylors then attempted to deduct from my deposit, charged me another 50.00 for something they couldn't explain to me , and generally managed to round up deduction to 810 telling me that I was to get 0.00 back although my deposit was 975 - so what happens to the other 165.00 ? Who knows, Taylors seem to do as they please and without question, as a result I have lodged an official complaint against them through the regulatory body and await there response, the short and tall of it is that Taylors electrical safety cert for the property was bogus, I had my own done and there was no surge protection, extension leads hard wired into plug sockets and Taylors simply do not care as long as the rent is being paid, I had my own electrical report done and it was damming to say the least, the house was a fire hazard, not to mention broken locks, faulty boilers and a very cold and expensive house and a maintenance company that don't respond to anything and frankly don't care. There are lots of really good agents out there, Taylors are not one of them, avoid at all costs and have a stress free rental.
