This rifle likes crosman premier hollowpoints and jsb exacts. very worthy of the 115.00 from pyramid air plus the 28.00 for daisy scope. Crows, rats and Rabbits seem to hate it though. Everytime i fire it they just fall dead.

If you are looking for a decent, cheap, reasonably accurate air rifle that can take on most small game, then check out the .22 caliber Crosman Quest 800X. I picked mine up for $115.00 from Pyramydair. The rifle has a nice light feel to it compared to my other air rifles, (Theoben Eliminator, Gamo Hunter 1250, .22 cal. Beeman SS1000H). I bought my Quest 800X mainly for small game hunting. The rifle that is most comparable to it in price, weight, and function would be the Beeman SS1000H. Like the S ...

What a pleasant surprise this gun has become. The quality of the wood work is super at this price point and frankly better than rifles I have looked costing twice what I paid for this keeper. Out of the box after cleaning the crude out of the barrel I decided to shoot a few rounds before mounting the included scope. Set my targets up at about 12 meters and squeezed a couple rounds off using crosman premiers (14.3 grm). Little dieseling was noticed but I did hear a loud smack against the solid w ...

I got mine from Basspro for $100. For the money it was a very good rifle, actually better than any other Chinese rifle I have handled. The rifle is lightweight which makes it hold sensitive and the recoil is more than average. It does chew up scopes, it's not that the one with it is so terrible, it is just a very heavy recoiling springer. If you want to buy this rifle make it iron sights only after the scope fails or put another $50-75 in a leapers. By that time your in the price range of a Beem ...

I got mine yesterday from basspro.com at $99.99, which is the best deal I have found on for one. So far I have put 10 rounds through it. With iron sights at my indoor trap, it smoked a bit for the first few shots, which I expected. I can't really tell yet how precise it really is, because it is still breaking in. It was loud for the first few shots, and it has a nice feel and it looks good. It has better than expected wood and blueing, and the trigger is better than my Gamo by a lot. I guess I g ...

All I can say is WOW!! My Crossman Quest 800 c8m22x reminds me of shooting a Ruger 10/22 rim fire 22 cal. rifle. Springers offer a lot of "bang for the buck" and I like the punch of the 22 cal. version.

I've only shot about a 100 rounds with open sites and about a 100 rounds with the scope. With open sites at 10 yards I could shoot a dime size target all day long. With a scope at 20 yards I could shoot at quarter sized target yards all day long. It was amazing how many times I could s ...

Crossman Quest 800 c8m22x - We have two of these rifles, Quests that is. We have the 1000X (.177) and the one this review is about the 800X (.22). Admittedly this rifle can be an acquired taste. My son got the .177 and never liked it. I on the other hand, after breaking it in found it to be quite a good rifle. The same can be said for the .22.

I broke the rifle in on Beeman extra heavy Kodiak pellets. At first it tends to throw them in a wide area. No tight neat groups to begin with. But, kee ...

After tightening the screws the accuracy increased dramatically. It punched a hole into a door knob at 15 yards, dead center. This Crosman Quest 800 will knock down your game. This rifle is really hold sensitive. DO NOT hold it tight while shooting. Let the rifle rest on only the palm of your hand and let it rest on your shoulder as if you were "floating" it. Give it time and keep checking those screws. Do not over tighten!

Let me start by saying that I am not a competition shooter that needs .5 inch groups at ANY RANGE. I am a normal guy that wants a nice, powerful, and accurate gun to shoot on my property for varmints or the occasional inanimate object that I feel the need to shoot. I also own several Gamo rifles (good guns imo), a Beeman, and a couple of the Chinese Tech force models, all in .177 cal. I wanted a .22 for more power. Let me tell you, if you try to read every review to figure out what to buy, y ...
