Good Points: Stylish car, good handling, good visibility and ample gadgets
Bad Points: Fuel economy, seat trim, numerous recalls and excessive faults
General comments: I have had the Peugeot 1.4 HDI SE since new (nearly 3 years), it looks good and drives well, handles corners well and reasonable acceleration for such a small engine. Cruise control is an added extra and well worth it. Auto wipe, auto lights both excellent and funtion well. The published fuel economy attracted me but I have never got anywhere close to the book figures of 46mpg urban 65 extra urban. Best I manage with cruise control at 56mph is 45 and around town is about 36) Only about 38mpg at 70 which is better than petrol but not good for deisel in such a small car. Dealer says nothing wrong with engine. Seat covers are difficult to clean (not good with kids) and soon look tatty. Rear passanger light cannot be turned off from front so is a real pain. I am on the 4th recall. The car has also been back for broken CD (common problem), electric mirrors and a warped skuttle board. Overall fairly good but let down by poor reliability and fuel economy.
