    Mentadent P Original is the best toohpaste ever. That new stuff is wick, really horrible pink goo. I havent been to the dentist in over 10 years and i so so believe in Mentadent P Original. Come on Unilever, get your act together and give us back some decent toothpaste. I refuse to buy that new stuff. Its disgusting, and they have the nerve to call it fresh flavour!!!

    my chemst ordered menadent for me as i have looked every where for it.so glad when it came.
    but what did i get ,this horrible runny white paste.
    it is the s.r menadent,so take heed dont buy this one.i have yet to find this in england,only abroad
    & the postage is dearer than the toothpaste.
    help wanted if anyone knows where to get some.

    Why, Oh why have the makers of Mentadent P Original Toothpaste change the original flavour to the disgusting new flavour which I purchased by mistake? A mistake which will never happen again. From a very disappointed long term user.

    Absolutely agree - what a disappointment. Yet another unique product following the masses into anonymity and, probably, obscurity. We have bought Mentadent Original for years for it's great taste and the confidence we have in it as a toothpaste. Our three (now adult) children do not have a filling between them. Why change an excellent product ?

    New so-called Fresh Mentadent P is the ruination of a once great product.
    I have been using the original paste for many years and it has helped me maintain reasonable dental health.
    When I opened a 'fresh' the other day, it made me gag. Horrible slimy translucent gel and overpowering spearmint smell and taste which I cannot stand. I had to throw it away.
    Rang Unilever who said they didn't make original anymore but admitted they had received loads of complaints and requests to get the original ...

    The Original Mentadent P toothpaste was a great taste!
    I remember it when it was sold as Gibb's Mentadent in POWDER form in pink lidded tins! There was also a minty flavour one sold in a blue lidded tin!

    I recently purchased 10 tubes of what I thought was Mentadent P Original Toothpaste. This morning I opened the first tube instantly noticed the awful colour and the taste is disgusting.
    I phoned Unilever to complain and they have very kidly agreed to refund the cost of the product on its return to them.
    I got a very good response from a guy at their freephone desk he said that Unilever might have to go back to the Original Flavour.

    Having used Mentadent P Original Toothpaste for years as, as a non mint lover it was the only toothpaste I could stand the taste of, it was a bit of a shock when I was greated with the most disgusting flavour ever when I opened the new tube. (not only that, it triggered my asthma off, which was a little frightening to say the least). I wrote to Unilever at the time and the response was a standard letter saying I had to call a complaint line with numbers from the packaging, which I no longer had. ...

    Adding my 2p to the other reviewersfor years Mentadant P was the only toothpaste I could bear the taste of, others reek of spearmint or equally unpleasant flavourings which literally make me gag, now it has become yet another chewing gum flavoured confection.

    I started using Mentadent P Original Toothpaste ,on a dentsist's recommendation over 30 years ago, and my present dentist always remarks how healthy my gums and teeth are. Unilever better get their act together quickly and restore the original product and its outlets. My rating is based on the new product and the risk of less protection.It would have been 9/10. The new paste is very disappointing and I am concerned that there may be a deterioration in the current product's protective qualities ...

    I used this for years and liked it. My girlfriend tried it recently and loved it except now I believe Unilever has gone and ruined it, plus I now have my girlfriend on my back badgering me for the real deal. Bring back proper Mentadent P!

    I have bought Mentadent in the past because a) it didn't taste of mint, b) I liked the texture and c) it worked.Now they have improved it!They have changed the taste, so that it's like all the other toothpastesThey have changed the texture to a sort of rubbery pasteThey have increased the priceThey have lost a customer

    A number of years ago Mentadent P Original was recommnended to me by a dental surgeon who specialised in preventative care. It proved to be excellent in helping to maintain a high standard of oral hygiene, with a pleasant taste & texture.

    The new fresh flavour is quite disgusting on both counts & is akin to cleaning your teeth with chewing gum flavoured jelly.

    Please, please get the original back on the shelves asap.

    i used mentadent P original toothpaste 3 times a day when it was the original flavour i cant believe they call it an improvement it tastes stale and nasty i liked it as i don't like things that are minty and things that were overpowering i am not going to use the 'improved' one i will definitely be sending a letter of complaint.

    I think the new version is like cleaning my teeth with liquid mint sweets. I find it disgusting and I can't believe they call it improved. The only thing that seems to be improved is the price!

    I have been using Mentadent P Original Toothpaste for as long as I can remember, and I find it to be good. The taste is great, and it is not overpowering or too minty. I always have fresh breath, and feel that my teeth are clean. I have never had much bother with the dentist either, so I would say it works very well.
