Ordered a new Moscow bed from Bedstar which was fine. Paid cash up front but still waited 16 days for delivery. Made the mistake of paying £39 for them to collect old bed (17+ years old) but didn't read Para 9 of Terms & Conditions which requires old bed (divan + mattress) to be wrapped in plastic packaging before collection/delivery of new bed. Delivery men claimed that they did not have room on their van but they also mentioned they were running over an hour late. They said that they would arrange for a van to collect the next day. However, I rang customer services to check and was subsequently told that the condition of the bed/mattress was not fit for collection and the £39 was not refundable. Moral of the story...never pay Bedstar £39 for Recycling, Local Authority in my area will take it away for £10 and, just in case, use packaging from new bed to wrap if old bed is in poor condition.

I get the feeling that Bedstar is more suited to operating on a trading estate with showroom buyers rather than online where people use delivery estimates as a deciding part of the sale. Whilst the goods ordered did arrive they were well outside of the lead times stated at the time of ordering online, and I had to chase for updates. Promises of "delivery on x date" came and went and required more chasing to get the goods dispatched even once they had arrived in stock. The phone number was always unanswered but email contact was responded to within 24 hours (usually on the same business day). If the delivery estimates were more accurate (e.g. "Up to 3 week delivery" rather than "Next day delivery") I may still have used Bedstar and been left with a more positive experience. Instead I'm left with the impression that their online sales are a secondary activity for them after their showroom sales just so they can "get online". Sadly this is a common problem for many furniture retailers.

I placed a large order with bedstar in November 2012 with a lovely guy who started off my shopping experience very positively. I purchased two single beds,two trundle beds and two bedside tables for my childrens bedrooms. All arrived in good time and all were lovely apart from one of the bedside tables which was damaged, and there the story begins. We are now March 2014, I have just received a minimal refund of £25 from the company for the hassle that I have had over the past 18 months. I have finally agreed to keep the 5th bedside table that I have been sent, even though, within a day the drawer runner on one of the drawers fell off. The other bedside tables received over the last year and a half have been badly marked or dented and on one occasion all the bottoms of the drawers were not attached when the bedside table was received. It is a real shame as all the other furniture has been lovely but this has caused me a massive amount of time and energy to try to sort. Communication within the company is very slow giving no priority to cases that have been outstanding far too long, emails are dealt with on a first come first served basis. I feel the quality and standard of the furniture that they are being supplied with is very much lacking, when you know that someone is on there 3rd, 4th bedside table you make sure that it is 100% perfect before you send out a replacement!! Such a shame!

Bought a mattress which arrived on time and of good quality. Now after three years on a five year guarantee had developed faults. Have spoken to Customer services at Bedstar and have been lied to many times. The service offered by this department is awful. They fail to return calls consistently and when chased, respond by e-mail. Howerver, the content of the e-mail is not truthful. In summary, they seel good products manufactured by others at a good price. However, the after saldes customer service is very bad. Prepared to be lied to and avoided.
