CMC Markets Spread Betting constant unjustfied requote. If you loose, they win. If you win they will make sure you loose. Have stopped trading with them all together. Beware.

I had a CMC Markets Spread Betting a/c for less than a year and just couldn't stomach them anymore. As many before me have already noted... CMC constantly re-quotes so much so I've lost out on a lot of profit(occassionaly it has gone in my favour). I think the dealing platform is amateurish and not very intuitive next to a lot of others out there. Customer service is slow and shockingly bad. I have found that they've always come back to me but large amounts of time have elapsed inbetween. I ...- Read Guest's review (112 words)

CMC Markets Spread Betting customer service is incredibly bad: rude on calls, they don't reply emails, they're slow (perhaps because I'm a small fish with only £2000 in the account?)
Their latest: they offered me 4 training CD-ROMs if I placed 30 trades by 19/06. Guess what? so I did and nothing I got. And guess what else? I tried to contact them by phone and email and they never got any reply.- Read moveny's review (70 words)

I still have an account with CMC Markets Spread Betting but to be honest that is only as their mobile interface is good for price levels and my broker doesnt have that.
I have used them for about five years and believe me they are not good. To anyone looking to have a go dont use these guys. You are better using someone else for cfds or FX or when you get a little experience trade though a real broker.

1. The daily chart data is wrong so often that CMC charts have become a fiction that JK Rowling would be proud of, especially Sundays and Fridays. On most charts at least once a week there is a massive difference [100 points frequently and 400 points sometimes] between the high on the Bid chart and the high on the Offer chart, sometimes it is the open price that is 100s points difference and sometimes the low price. It is impossible to know which chart is right. Consequently indicators lik ...- Read Guest's review (589 words)

I have an account with CMC, my advice to you people out there: stay away from this business.
My reasons for such harsh review:
-platform (web one) is extremely unreliable. After 15 min it slows down, prices stop updating and you can't close/open positions.
- When you place an order takes ages to get executed, and in today fast changing markets this is extremely unpleasant. Imagine buying ftse at 4002 and getting it at 3986 (happened to me)
I close a position close to end of day, market closed an ...- Read Guest's review (178 words)

I opened an account with CMC spread betting recently. Yesterday I thought I would give it a go. I was doing OK by shorting FTSE100 since I thought the market would go down to 3500 again soon. I didn't place a stop loss. This afternoon I was surprised to learn that my position was stopped out just before the market turned around to go down from about 4000. I didn't receive margin calls or anything like that. I still had money to cover my postion as well as the margin required. I would have made a ...- Read jaslily's review (147 words)

I have just closed my account cmc...reason being it was getting increasingly difficult to trade with the requotes..delays etc
Main reason is i have seen the cable move in quiet markets to ,12 pip spreads...swissy 13 pip spreads...euro 3 pip spreads on a contsistent basis..i contacted the cmc help support and he mentioned ....this is a business decision. to help the business and not the clients ....can you believe that..i couldnt believe what he said..another email saying this.....Spreads are dy ...- Read Guest's review (130 words)

I've been persevering with CMC for nearly 5 years. They used to be ok, as spreadbetting companies go, but the past 12 months have been an absolute nightmare with requotes sometimes lasting up to a minute, site freezing and just general mayhem. It's now got to the point where I feel that I simply can't risk placing trades with them so what's the point of staying. I've finally thrown in the towel and am going elsewhere.- Read kewbridge's review (101 words)

When I place an order their system it often requotes mainly when if it seems to be in their favour and not mine. This doesn't happen with my Selftrade account and it gives you 10 seconds to confirm the price. Suppose this is because I think Selftrade takes a flat trade fee and doesn ' t behave like a fruit machine trying to take your money. There are comments saying that the spreads are narrow (average in comparison) but there is no point of having this when you can't place my entry/exit points ...- Read lifeguard1's review (377 words)

Keeps re-quoting! Rubbish helpdesk, the online chat is rubbish too, I've lost a lot of money because of there system, waste of time.
People wanting to go with them, think twice, avoid them like the plague if I were you, look else where.- Read greenme's review (44 words)

Yes CMC is good for Spreadbets and CFDs - just make sure you make really good use of their ordering system. Its easy to place limit buys and stop losses and you can pay a little extra on entry order if you want "guaranteed" stop losses. Just watch the units as £1 per point = 100 shares for companies. You can easily place order for tens of thousands without realising. Also you can trade the indices and sectors very easily with enormous values thanks to the minimal margin - used to be £ ...- Read luckystrike's review (166 words)

Unlike others I had plenty of time to respond to margin calls, so perhaps they have sorted that one.
The sales desk is chaotic and doesn't sort out problems quickly enough. For instance they have "lost" £20,000 of my money and don't seem understand my concern. When I phone the person I need to speak to is always "in a meeting".- Read Actinidia's review (71 words)

I got a margin call, went to fund my account at CMC Markets Spread Betting and less than 40 seconds after the margin call they closed the trade off, even though I had put money into the account. They did this twice. I fail to understand the point of sending an email as the margin call and then closing the trade off within a minute. Why bother with the margin call, it's not like they give you enough time to do anything about it.- Read SteveNaive's review (90 words)
