    John Wayne Airport is a great airport for several reasons. First, the proximitiy to Disneyland and all things Orange County can't be beat! Secondly, since it is smaller, it is easy in, and easy out. The airport is kept clean and the TSA staff is very friendly. The rental car counters and actual location of the rental cars are within walking distance from baggage claim (Hertz was anyhow). Finally, our flight was less expensive than it would have been to fly into LAX. We will definitely use this airport again whenever returning to this area!

    The ease of flying into here and avoiding LA has played a big part in our decison to return to the area next year - as life is short but sweet we seldom re-visit places. Cannot speak highly enough but don't tell everyone it's just so neat as it is.

    I flew out from LAX on the way out, and it is a much nicer airport, despite having a long commute. From LAX the flight wasn't overbooked, and we were upgraded to First. The seat choice was limited on the flight back to Orange County. The Admirals club is nice, but not as nice as the one at LAX. Our bags got lost, and even though American Airlines did all they could to get them through, we didn't get them until 10am the next morning. Heed my warning, and do not use John Wayne.     The air-side restaurant at John Wayne Airport , Santa Ana, California (SNA) serves decent meals promptly. Pizza is also available, and there is a McDonald's at each end of the building. TSA seems to adequately staff the checkpoints.
