I got my Suzuki Beamish Christmas 2003 and then it was 23 years old. It had been looked after reasonably well, and had no paint chips, mostly all original parts. I was amazed at how it started and ran. Like new! the bike is rear dualshock and has a five speed gearbox, 1 down 4 up. It is quite powerful with 15-18 horsepower... and example of this is when my dads car got stuck at the bottom of our field and I went down and hooked onto a big "Ifor Williams" trailer!! It will and can do anything within the riders skill level. It is still very easy to get parts for this bike because you can either get original parts from neglected old bikes or you can get pre 1980 semi-universal parts from places like "stevens trials" which is a very good shop in all aspects. The bike isn't costly to run... it is 20/1 four star...or...unleaded now, with two stroke oil... I think the tank capacity is about 2/3 of a petrol can so... 3.3 litres. But this full tank will last you ages, estimate 40-50 miles!!! it is a beautiful machine, very retro and pretty, but it isn't a toy!! boy does it go when you want it to!! i love these gorgeous bikes.... and now due to the increasing rarity of such items, the value can only increase! So it is a great investment, and if you like restoring old bikes then get a neglected beamish and bring it back to life. You would be doing the world a favour and making a bit of money!!!
Any feedback, questions or comments would be much appreciated!!! thankyou!

I have two 1974 Suzuki RL250. I restored one. I'm working on restoring the second one now. I love the Bikes. They are amazing and I will always be passionate about the Suzuki RL. It is very reliable, has so much torque, and great for vintage trials. I am having some trouble finishing a set of rear suspension for it though, right now I have front springs from an old quad but am looking for a original set of shocks in good condition.
