    Good Points: great in thick sand


    Bad Points: low power


    General comments: Well i only recently got my 1987 isuzu trooper 2 but have thourghly tested it off road. when i first got the trooper it would easily get caught in thick sand and mud but last week i upgraded the tires to bfgoodrich longtrails. know my trooper can handle most things i have thrown at it recently. my only negative comments would be that at times i wish for a little more push that a v 6 would give me but overall it handles great. i have only had one problem that needed any repair and that was when the universal joint sheared the four bolts that attached it to the rear axle. a dollar worth of bolts and ten min worth of work fixed the problem.

    We've had the Isuzu trooper since 99. We like it very much. Bought it on a whim and we feel like we lucked out despite some problems with the engine 4 months into the purchase. It is not really practical for grocery shopping. I didn't think of that when we bought it. I fear the rollover somewhat but wonder how the Trooper does since they only seem to test other suv's constantly leaving Isuzu out. I'm curious to see how it has been changed.
