    I had an accident late last year. My policy was cancelled and premium refunded without my knowledge. I dont know if this is standard practice when the car is beyound economical repair. I had legal cover but I have found out that in the event of an accident this is not enough. Might be worth taking out Before the event (cheaper and you get peace of mind) or After the event protection. This covers court, barristers and other associated legal fees.

    Unfortunately the claim is still dragging on and the wrecked car takes up valuable driveway space. All parties (broker, claim dept, solicitor) seem to have slopey shoulders. Thus far I have not been compensated for the loss of this vehicle in order to buy a new one. The amount of phone calls, letter writing and other matters that I have had to undertake is difficult to fathom. I would not recommend them in case you have an unfortunately accident as you could end up waiting a year later.
    Based on this stressful experience I would not wish to go with a broker again.

    Great company, friendly service and the people seem to be happy to talk to youunlike these big known companies who hire drones. very impressed

    After purchasing a policy from the policy shop I checked the motor insurance database using the goverments own askmid.com website. It took 5 days before the car was registered as insured, which ment I couldnt drive the car for a full 5 days as I was technically not insured. I have never waited more than half a day through other insurance providers and find this to be a real let down.

    Completed application with the policy shop for Home Insurance and sent proposal form clearly stating property was 380m from a River.
    Policy date was 30 May 2009.

    Letter received 10 July 2009 asking me to contact Policyshop.

    This resulted in the Insurer refusing to continue cover as property was within 400m of a river.

    The Policy Shop are OK as long as you dont want to change the vehicle on our policy at any time. Also could keep you holding on the phone for some time. only offer 40% of premuim back if you want to cancel with 8 months left on policy and also want a cancellation fee. Got a quote to change from a group 16 car to group 17 car wanted £158 extra for 8 months. Yet full 12 month policy costs £415 on group 16 and £500 on group 17. Cant work it out , but what ever I do I loose. ...

    The Policy Shop were so much better than dealing with a large insurer and having to talk to india everytime I need something, refreshing to see good personal service still exists!

    I'd recommend the Policy Shop, I was banned and just got my license back, many of the larger companies didn't want to know or wanted to charge me the earth. The Policy shop were helpful and the insurance worked out cheaper than I thought it would be.

    My father had been a long standing customer of The Policy Shop, and we hold 3 of our motor insurance policies with them. Recently, my Dad passed away and we needed to cancel his car insurance policy and arrange for a refund. First of all, this took extremely long (approx. 8 weeks and numerous phone calls and letters). Secondly, they refunded the wrong amount, and the payment was made to the wrong person. When I called to resolve all this, I was cut off mid sentence by the company director. M ...
