If you want decent quality glasses with all year round support, then visit a reputable high street store instead. The problem with glassesdirect is twofold: 1. quality, and 2. support. In terms of quality, my last pair suffered from frame paint coming on, and my recent (and last) pair have an anti-reflective coat which barely works causing me danger at night. Support is far from adequate and can never compare with that offered by a drop in to a local high street store. Please stay away.

Like many I pay loads on the high street, whenever going on holiday I loose or break them, not this time I thought..
I ordered and paid by PayPal, all fine, got confirmation of order and receipt.
I rang day before going away, guess what no order on system seems pay by PayPal and it seems in my opion, they wait for a call as it may be a dodgy order, thanks for that, makes me feel really wanted.
So still waiting for money back and down to SpecSavers for glasses, never again will I use an online ...- Read Guest's review (201 words)

Unfortunately, despite what appeared to be a good effort, Glasses Direct ended up selling me a pair of glasses that caused eye strain because the frames were incompatible with the lenses (something impossible to see from the website, but which they should have known about). Then they refused to change the glasses or refund my £142.- Read Summerfield's review (66 words and 1 comment)

I have an order in process with Glasses Direct but I am starting to have concerns mainly because of the phone call I received and now what has been entered on my account. I sent my order via mail so that they could read my prescription rather than me enter it online, thought that would eliminate errors. GlassesDirect phoned me and asked seemingly odd questions about my non complicated prescription. I have a glasses for pc use but they seem to think I wanted long distance despite clearly marking ...- Read Guest's review (212 words)

Yes this is a much cheaper way of getting glasses, but I will never use them again. I have a high-ish prescription and after having ordered them i could see ok out of them.
was a bit odd to start with, but i put it down to adaption. i gave it a few weeks and during this time i experienced some very bad migraines. i took them to a local optician and found the measurements i entered were wrong.
personally, i am now happy to pay for for a service that a local opticians will give me.
In life, ...- Read didan132's review (164 words)

I wear contact lenses 99.99% of the time but needed an upgraded pair of glasses (eyesight getting worse with age!) and didn't really want to pay £75+ on a pair of glasses that will stay in the case for emergency use, so ordered a pair from glasses direct.I placed my order on Sunday evening and they arrived on Friday, impressive delivery time, if I had ordered a pair from the high street I don't think they would have been ready that quickly! The glasses I ordered are a very similar style to ...- Read sweetpea1982's review (177 words)

I do not recommend using Glasses Direct if you are in urgent need of glasses. I ordered my prescription sunglasses, and noted that they would expect to deliver within 14 days but might take up to 28 days. After 14 days I asked where they might be and was told they were at the labs. I eventually cancelled on day 29 - at no point did I receive any contact or reassurance that they were working as quick as they could.
I think it is worth noting that the glasses do not seem that cheap, and if I can ...- Read howardd's review (147 words)

Cheap, but the Glasses Direct www.glassesdirect.co.uk service was a bit patchy. Ordered a pair of sunglasses. Arrived with wrong prescription fitted, and the coating was rippled in several places. Phoned, but the person I spoke to seemed to find it difficult to understand my complaint.- Read Guest's review (58 words)

I wouldn't recommend this as a way to buy glasses. The glasses are good and I don't intend to send them back but the ones I chose have a very narrow angle of view and produce quite a lot of chromatic abberation (rainbow colours) on the edge of my field of vision probably related to my high prescription, but not noticeable on other glasses I've had. I think an optiican would be able to advise you about that.
To sum up, Glasses Direct are obviously cheap but as with most services - you do get wha ...- Read Chris69t's review (181 words)

I really like my new glasses. I had gone through the usual (habit) way of ordering a previous pair from my local optician and, although I was happy with the result, the costs was 10 times what I paid for a similar pair on Glasses Direct.
Glasses Direct staff were very helpful on the phone and explained the likely delay clearly to me (and didn't cash my cheque until the pair were despatched!)
Hard to find any fault really, and I anticipate ordering a new pair soon!- Read garybarryparry's review (134 words)

I asked all my friends if I could try on their specs, and once I found some I liked I took all the measurements. I then matched these to a pair on the Glasses Direct web site. I love them.
I paid £15 + £2.50 P&P. In Specsavers they would have cost £75, and I wouldn't have a free hard coating.- Read Jacqui Feldon's review (80 words)
