Have been with BE for nearly 2 years service speeds started out good but have had a lot of dropouts over the second year. They charged me £17 for the value package while offering it cheaper to new customers, when I decided to leave they offered it for £8.50 when I said I wasn't interested and wanted to leave, have had nothing but hassle with them.They want their old router sent back to them or they charge £35 and want a months notice even though I'm out of contract. They used to provide a very reliable service. Since the buyout by Sky their service is truly awful. I am now suffering constant loss of connection and high ping in the evenings. Once again the customer gets screwed in the name of profit. Be glad to leave what was ONCE a good isp. (read more)

I have been with Be for three years started really well previous adsl provider 2mbps be up to 10 Mbps average 8Mbps so great. For a year it remained good 7-8 over last 18 months its been going down progressively now 2mbps and since I have told them that's it its now 1mbps and throughout the dropouts have got worse. I've had Be at three different locations spanning multiple years. I was very happy with the quality of the service but, in the last 18 months or so, it's slowly gone down the tubes. The fact is, I used to have a solid ~16MBit download speed. It's now 5Mbit on a good day. Sometimes I can't even stream HD youtube videos; compared to the service Be previously provided, it's a massive step backwards. Have been with Be since the beginning (5 or 6 years) with their "Pro" Static IP and multiple static IP ADSL packages in 2 or 3 locations at the same time. I think I can give an exact view of Be There ISP services because I took up the service way back on the 16th of January 2007 when the exchange in Glasgow was activated. Be There was a honest, trustworthy and non-desperate company that offered a good value of service. I´ve had several internet providers over the years, but since I moved to my current home I´ve had 3: BT, O2 and BE. And Be is by far the best one of the 3. All the providers I checked offered me the same speed, except for BT,who promised they could magically increase my speed, and I believed them. Big mistake! I agree with everyone. Best ADSL provider I ever had too, by a long way, for many years (I manage many ADSL lines). Even my friend in BT says they are by far the best and most organised LLU compnay to deal with.
Until today (18 May 2013) when my unlimited connection has slowed to 30% of its normal speed according to speedtest.net and there are all of the signs of traffic profiling eveident. Is this what we have to expect from Sky, if so I leaving Be just as quick as I can

I requested a MAC from Be* after being a customer for 3 years, I was told if I didn't use the code that my service would carry on as normal, I never got a MAC code and a few days after my last bill my internet went of, I thought it was just another fault with Be* after about half an hour I rang CS to be told that I'd been disconnected, No MAC no warning, CS told me it would take 7-10 days to reconnect me. I have been a BE customer for going on 8 years, It really is a shame that the likes of BE have fallen into the same realms of other ISPs, they once stood out as a premium provider but now they are slowly slipping by the wayside. Originally I was syncing at 16-17Mb, back when they sold their service as "up to 24MB", I'm Now Lucky if I get to 12Mb, but apparently "There isn't any issues" having just upgraded their network. These guys were good once, back 5 years ago when I first took up with them, but my internet speed has got gardually slower over the years, although I never did much about it. And then Bethere decided to 'upgrade' their network - what a joke, now I have no internet at all. There support is useless to say the least(it didn't used to be), and in order to get internet back I need to find another ISP, but in order to do so I need a MAC code, for which they, (Bethere), want me to pay a £40 fee!... I took out a year contract with Be Broadband, after they promised an excellent broadband speed in our area. When the modem arrived the internet was a tenth of the promised speed. We contacted the company and they said wait a few days for it to 'build up' in speed. Constant peering and routing problems, regular congested exchanges, no fibre products, overseas support via what seems to be a shockingly poor quality VOIP call, with script readers and staff that contradict thereself. Generally unreliable service with connection sometimes dropping multiple times in a day (nothing wrong my end BT have been out 5 times to check). This is a relatively new company they are consistently helpful, once you get used to the eastern european accent , they are very helpful and pleasant, modest even ,and they do really listen. they are also flexible in their outcomes.and they take time. BE (bethere.co.uk) used to be the best provider, with really excellent customer service provided by cheerful and knowledgable people in UK and India. I don't know if there's been a change of ownership, but the company is now entirely run out of bulgaria and, let's face it, outsourcing customer service to ex-communist eastern europe is like outsourcing your armed forces to italy (or your catering to england...). I first signed up with BE on the advice of my IT advisor. - Initially the service was fantastic with a reliable 16-17Mbs line speed. Some months ago this service deteriorated sharply at busy times eg early evening. I understand that BE was owned by O2 who allowed them to run as a high quality independent business. After reading an ad on a magazine about BE saying "Worlds fastest upload speed!" I thought to myself, this looks really good. Boy was I totally wrong, after being promised 8MB upload speed I didn't even get a quarter of that. In fact, I only got 0.8 MB upload and the download was even worse. Our old connection with Netgear was 1.5MB. This is only 300KB! Plus this is where the 'Expensive' part comes in. Be value gives you up to 16MB download speed and is very much restricted. Did very little to speed up my connection which was less than 1mb/s. The fault was actually with the line rental in the end but they weren't able to diagnose this. Whereas when i changed to Sky, they diagnosed this stragith away and now I'm enjoying 10mb/s Trying to cancel Be has been an issue - i have had to send back the router, which seems a little strange. Have been with Be for about 5 years and at first the broadband speed was great 8Mbps. Gradually over the years this has gone down and as of today its was at 3Mbps until I changed the filter and it increased to 4Mbps. Have been with BeThere for 5 years, and have 3 broadband connections with them, on 3 separate phone lines. They were the best ISP 5 years ago: great service, no downtime, quick speeds. They have declined badly in the last 12 months: constant connection issues (speed and dropouts) which they have acknowledged across their network. I have been with these guys for over 3 years and finally had enough! I never got even 20% of the connection speed I was promised, in facts a dismal 2-3M when i was promised around 25M. Very surprised at all the neg comments because in 3 years I have never had a problem with Be. Was with pipex before and talk talk before that, we are on the end of the exchange so speed is compromised but less so with Be than the others and the support is good. maybe some people need to deal with ntlworld/virgin, BT and Sky to fully appreciate how lucky they are with BE (read more)

Pretty bad. Speeds only marginally better than Orange but almost 4 times as expensive. Constant packet loss and intermittant connection issues. Sometimes it takes literally minutes to resolve a URL and I'm given no explanation as to why this happens. Asked for a static IP and my connection went down. Still haven't heard back from them on the reason why I can't have a static IP. Possibly one of the providers that is blocking torrent sites. I have absolutely no interest in pirating software.... What a terrible company. If you have a problem the support from BE will do their best to blame you and not their poor structure of a company. After fantastic performance and service for over three and a half years out of four they have really gone down hill. Web pages won't load, pages freeze and after runing pingtest.com I found that I was suffering from very high packet loss. If uou are thinking of joining BE one word of advice Don't ! I have been a be customer for 12 months now. When I joined thye were a great company. They were even different from many of the other big names in broadband supplies. The last 3 month they have gone hill so much. Slow loading web pages, disconnections. I have been with BE for 6 years and it really hurts me to write this review. These guys used to be one of the best out there. Great speeds, unlimited downloads, reliable and with great customer service. We are on "be lite" (now known as be value), which is an upto 12mb service, although really you don't get more than about 5.5 mbps where we live. I have now been using BE for 9 months since moving home. After an awful experience with BT previously I was sure not to go back with them and switched to BE. It is more expensive than many others but I have never had issues in the last 9 months and only had to talk to customer services once, at the very beginning during the setup phase. Whilst you are with Be, they are not a bad service provider. However, when you come to cancel, they will hit you with hidden charges such as an express termination charge and charging you for routers that have broke during the time you were with them and have since disposed of, as you can no longer return it to them. I've been with BE for a year or two now, and never really had any problems. The download speeds aren't the best (10Mb) because of the distance to the exchange, but the service is truly unlimited and you never seem to get throttled even with torrents. I've had no problems with their customer support, you can raise a "ticket" on their website for non urgent questions and they always seem to get answered really quickly. Well out of the ISP's I have used one being Tiscali (back in 2007) and BT (February 2009), Be are the better choice because I have never experienced problems like throttling and disconnections as what happened to me on Tiscali, nor any problems in regards to strange disconnections from midnight to anywhere up to 6AM (BT). I had BE for 6 months with no problems, moved to a place they didn't cover for a year, moved back and got an excellent uncapped Value package. They doubled the price recently, so are probably back on par with the field, but I don't mind because they provide a service reliable enough to work from home. Perhaps one short outage a fortnight, no long ones. Unlimited downloads more important than speed for me, but the service doesn't feel throttled. Their router works well. Never needed to call... I read glowing reports about BE before I joined them..... well, all I can say is they must have been for a different company to the BE I'm with!! I am having the same problems. Can't really play games at the moment because my ping is 70-90 higher than is off peak. It's basically not feasible to play games between 5pm and 11pm I'm even getting 3-5% packet loss on UDP games like counter-strike. Once you get to like midnight or something though it's back to how good the service was in the past, 20-25ms ping 25-40 for servers in germany, france, etc, etc. Now I'm pinging 80 to London from Manchester. Gosh
