    Good Points: Clean
    Well laid out
    Good location

    Bad Points: Cooked restaurant food
    No air conditioning

General comments: Dunaflor in Maspalomas is an excellent, clean, well laid out complex of 'bungalows'. Each 'bungalow' consists of a downstairs lounge/kitchenette with a pull-out bed for a third person. Upstairs there is a bathroom/toilet with shower, twin beds and a small balcony.

Although there were only 2 adults in our party, the complex is well suited to families, with an excellent family pool and poolside bar. A much quieter pool (with no bar) exists on the other side of the restaurant.

We had booked this as an 'All Inclusive'. What our internet holiday supplier failed to tell us was that it was an 'All Inclusive Lite', ie. an 'All Inclusive' with very few trimmings - no all day hot snacks, and food was only available when the restaurant was open.
This omission was not the fault of 'Med Hotels', whose rep proved to be a most friendly, helpful person. But as we spent all day off site, this really wasn't a problem for us.

    Minor niggles were:
No kettle for a morning brew.
Pay per view TV 1€ per hour if you wanted it.
No toast in the restaurant, and no toaster in the apartment.
As I say, these are minor niggles that were far outweighed by the overall holiday.
Unless the restaurant cooked breakfasts have VASTLY improved, then give it a wide berth.

The complex location was ideal, just a short trip to the main town 2 - 3€ by cab, and a free, 10 minute shuttle bus to the beach.
The beach is fantastic - huge, clean and safe. Families at one end and the nudist section at the far end, populated by genuine, friendly sun worshippers - we tried it and enjoyed it!
If you miss the last beach bus back (16:30), then it's just a 5 minute 2€ cab ride.
Plenty of nearby shops, bars restaurants etc.
Well recommended are the La Gomera restaurant - downstairs, next to the hotel restaurant, and the Mirador bar which overlooks the complex, the golf course and the dunes, an ideal place to have that last 'nightcap' with excellent views and a friendly proprietor.

The Dunaflor is well worth a return visit, but only on a self catering basis. It serves well as an excellent base for the 'out and about' types.

All in all, one of the best holidays we have enjoyed.

We had a lovely time at Maspalomas, Dunaflor in Gran Canaria. We stayed all inclusive, and still got a kitchen in our room. It had a balcony, and it was cleaned frequently. We had clean towels 3 times in the week. The food was fabulous, and the staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The pool area was nice and big, and the pool was clean.
