i like to shoot my sling shot. i used to have a pellet gun one of those ten pump deals. good gun but it broke. i wish i new what brand it was. i'd like to purchase another one. very light weight. i wish i could find a semi automatic pellet gun for a decent price.i once shot a pellet gun that had the same power as a .22 but that gun weighed a ton id rather just shoot a .22 rile. i dont reccomend this pellet because of a post that said they are irregular in size. i love england. and my... We have horses on a small farm so obviously we do not need groundhogs making leg breaking holes in our fields. I have whacked quite a few of the critters with shotguns but I am hesitant to use a 22 cal rifle because I am afraid to have the round carry too far and hurt a neighbor or worse. I also was afraid to use a pellet gun on groundhogs because I don't want to wound an animal. I want to put them away quickly. Well,,,, I experimented and I am impressed with how my Gamo Rocket .177... (read more)

I bought a .22CFX recently. Probably had 50 shots thru it. So it hasnt been properly run in yet.
The rockets produced the best grouping of under 1" CTC from 20 Yrds from 4 pellets. With other pellets (Pro Magnum and Winchester AP2250) I was getting groupings with 2.5" with some flyers going 2.75" CTC.
Penetration was about even with the Gamo Pro Magnums into Pine.
Cost works out to be about 10 cents a pellet, so it's pretty expensive to shoot. They also loaded well into the rotating...

Deadly, accurate, terminal performance on all small game that I have shot with it. It really tears up squirrels entering with a tiny hole and usualy exiting with a horrendous gaping wound. Most are dead long before they hit the ground. In my Ruger Air Hawk the Gamo Rocket is Devastating! The $5.99 price tag for 150 pellets is a little pricy but worth every penny! I have killed dozens of Grackle's at 40 yds with very little correction needed for elevation. AWESOME! nuff said! (read more)

With a daisy 880S pumped 10 times shooting at 10yds I can hit a dime size or smaller group with 3 shots every time. I only use these for rat or racoon shooting and they work well. I was able to break a 8"x8" spanish tile with two shots. One guy said he shot a chipmunk with these pellets on this thread, man wtf did a chipmunk do to you man. Ill pop your ass with a raptor foo if you come around here. 25% more asswhoopin son. (read more)

These Gamo Rocket pellets are all over the place in my Gamo Big Cat 1200. Some slide into the barrel no problem and some are such a tight fit i give up and throw them away. They shoot fine in my dad's old Daisy pump but for some reason my Big Cat doesn't like them at all. I can't even consistently get them on the paper at 20 yards. I'm disappointed in gamo for the terrible quality control. (read more)

An interesting variation on a sabo shot only with a copper bb round embedded in a standard diablo pellet. No plastic shroud to foul the barrel.
Note as the business end is copper not lead, this is a high penetration, low distortion shot and liable to punch holes straight through stuff that would stop pure lead pellets. Accuracy appears pretty good.

I posted an earlier review where I gave these pellets a10 but am here to retract that. These had been my favorite hunting pellet until this last batch. Some shot fine and some were so oversized that they were stuck in the barrel wich could damage a pneumatic rifle. I have NEVER witnessed such horrible quality control. I will never buy another tin of these for fear of damaging my pump rifles. (read more)

Gamo Rocket is the best pellet that I can buy locally for small game hunting.I am not a target shooter or plinker so I can only speak for hunting and this pellet outperforms anything on the shelf at Wal-Mart or Kmart in my Remington Air Master 77.At 45 yrds I can hit 3 out of 5 shots in a kill zone the size of a squirrels head.I can consistently kill doves from 50 yrds and grey squirrels from 40,which is my personal limit with a pellet gun(for squirrels) I refuse to use anything else in my... AAR (After Action Report). I just got back from hunting (Varmint) in Georgia, I mainly used the Gamo Rockets but my longest range kill came from the Gamo PBA Armor Piercing (lighter supersonic version of the rocket) at 98-100 yards. The Rockets in my G1 Extreme from Crosman were highly effective at ranges up to 60 yards, total kill count in 6 hours of hunting was 8 squirrels 5 of them killed within 60-65 yards using the rockets, 1 kill at 100 yards using the PBA Armor Piercing and 2 kills at... As for the price to amount comparison I buy my rockets at Walmart for 3.99 a tin/can and compared to the 80 count Gamo Armor Piecring or the Gamo PBA Raptors at 100 count priced at 9.99 each, that is a good deal that I get for the Rockets. Was looking into the "Hydra-Shoks" (Crosman Destroyers) but after testing the Kinetic Transfer , Accuracy, and Penetration at 30 yards the Gamo Rockets came out indefinately on top, the Rockets penetrated 7 inches of clear candle wax with a entry point of... well, okay, your cfx .22 fires over 1000fps?I own an exclusive 'silver' version,(New Zealand). That being stainless steel barrel and powerplant.looks good, and rare,my point being, they barely fire over 750fps with the lightest pallets, and mines been fully customised. What did you do to make yours so powerful?as far as my knowlege goes, your claims are a touch random.

Excellent pellet that I have found to be very accurate in most of my air arms. It is the most versatile pellet I have found so far. Maintains it's accuracy much farther out than most pellets I have tried. Has also been very consistent from lot to lot, which is not true for many other pellets and /or brands. After I found out that a light pellet (Gamo PBA) while flat shooting, didn't hit hard enough out of a lower powered gun to knock down a squirrels, I decided to try the Gamo Rocket pellets. With their heavy weight (9.5 grains), they don't shoot nearly as flat so you will have to re-sight your gun, but they hit like a freight train. If you shoot the bottom of a soda can with a normal weight pellet or a light pellet like the PBAs, they just go through with little energy transfer. With the Gamo... (read more)

Just an update. These pellets also seem to penetrate very well also. They give good initial penetration then expand and fragment, transfering all of their kinetic energy to the target. With the hardened steel bb in the front, they even reliably penetrate the shell of snapping turtles in the pond at my farm. The turtles eat all the fish so I got to control them somehow. Out of the Remington Airmaster 77 they reliably penetrate the tough outer shell before smashing through their insides, mushrooming perfectly. These turtles are about a foot across. When you shoot them they duck into their shells. They may appear to be just stunned but when you walk up to them and see a perfect pellet sized hole in their sell things start to look encouraging. Then when you turn the turtle shell upside down, lots of blood and insides come pouring out of the hole. Dead as ever. If you open them up and find the pellet they are mushroomed perfectly, minus the bb, resting against the opposite shell wall. I'd like to see what these beasts would be like out of a powerful gun like the Gamo hunter 1250 (now the hunter extreme). Gamo should really make these things in .22 or .25 cal as they would be in my opinion, the best pellets on the market without spending $12 for a 200 count tin.

It's a good idea to put basically a small BB into the head of a lead pellet, but they come in small lots and are not that accurate and will overpenetrate. In .22 caliber expansion is not as important as in the small .177 caliber, so you can hit a rabbit or squirrel and they have enought time to run away and hide somewhere to die. Personally, I prefer any hollow point or bulldog pellet if I'm hunting with a .177, since they will create more immediate damage, and thus less suffering.
It's not...

This is off Gamo topic but... I have an RWS 94 in .22. I've tried HP, Predators and domed style pellets. I like the domed best for power retention. The hp seemed to lack punch and energy retention for the quick kill on some small game that I could take easily with the domed pellets.
