This is a biggie! I had many infections delivered also, so have completely removed lime wire from my computer. Ashame really. It started off so well but there cannot be an adequate filter to prevent nasties being downloaded alongside the music. (read more)

There does not seem to be an adequate virus filter on the limewire site and thus the infections flow through to the user as in my experience. I have now removed limewire.com from my computer and do not recommend this site for music download. (read more)

The downloading systems used are fair, but don't be selective on the musics allowed to be downloaded. If I am searching for an artist/album, give me all he got.
I don't use credit/debit card, I love certain musics/artists. I can pay for the service. Use a system where the customer can send a check or money order. I have lived here for 19 years, and don't intend to move.

Overall Limewire is good if you don't care about your PC as it has a high potential to crash and get a virus. I wouldn't recommend this site if you have a decent PC/Laptop.

Music searches are good with reliable results.
Movies are quite poor quality I have found from my experience.
OK product however 1/3 of movies are useless because of maddening numbers that tick during the movie, unwanted foreign languages, unsynchronized dialogs, fuzzy picture quality, NO WAY TO PREVIEW, so one must wast time and cross your fingers as to whether the movie is any good.

You can search for nice music and get some really good, sometimes rare songs... It's nice but sometimes problematic, in my experience it does not always connect easily... I have to wait for months to reconnect.. before you can download music or songs.... Therefore I do not recommend Limewire even though it is a cool idea. (read more)

I haven't gotten a single virus from limewire, on limewire go to programs and you can download limewire pro for free, also songs are usually around 2000kb to about 6000, anything less for a song is usually a virus so don't download it. Everyone I know who has used Limewire got a virus. My nephew had to buy a new computer. I had to reinstall my operating system. I tried to start using limewire again and got an adware virus the first time I started using it again. I uninstalled it and will never use it again. It's no worth ruining your computer over. Use itunes or raphsody. Anything but limewire in my opinion. (read more)

I could not open the program on my computer because my firewall blocked it. THANKFULLY! My friends have had MANY viruses on their computer possibly from lime wire. Also, they would not refund me, even with not being able to open the program and never being able to use it. The people I have talked to from customer service have not been responsive I feel. It is a great site to get unlimited, free downloads. However downloading copyright material is illegal. But the problem comes with what else you are downloading with the songs. I used limewire for a period of about 2 months, and during that time I downloaded about 160 songs. One day, when I turned on my computer, it had a red screen, and said in the middle "Your computer has been infected with Spyware". I got back to Windows and ran a Norton Antivirus scan. Like others a friend turned me on to limewire. Ive had this program since 9/07, I enjoy it very much. I lost my download page e-mailed limewire 2 days ago saying I had a up graded version, I now have no problems with limewire.
Only one bad point for me, I wish limewire would keep the same way of viewing tracks in the library as befor, I think it was was much simpler.

I can't believe the naivite of some of the reviews here. If you download commercially released music from here, that is illegal! Fine if you want to run the risk, but at the very least you should know that this is not a commercial download site like iTunes.
To avoid the viruses, you really do need to know what to look out for, and that requires either a tutorial or painful experience.
Limewire is not a site. It is peer-to-peer file exchange software. You do not have to pay at all for Limewire,...

DO NOT USE LIMEWIRE! It put viruses on my computer because it opens all the ports... which messes up my hard drive. I just had to buy a new laptop, because I recieved viruses on my computer not blaming limewire but I cant see what else it can be? Cannot be detected, even by the best virus detection software. I had this exact problem, my internet connection messed up and disapeered except I was internetless for 5 months! I couldn't find one scrap of information on this either. I had to get a family member to reinstall my entire computer. Limewire caused me a lot of worry, reinstall your internet again is the way to deal with this AND NEVER USE LIMEWIRE.

I had Lime over 12 years. Downloaded and recorded alot of great songs. Never got a virus...NOTHING, but I was disappointed to find it no longer existed when I got out of extensive chemo treatment for an 8 lb cancerous tumor that I am now a 14 year survivor. Please bring Lime back "please." Everything else out there SUCKS.
