Vodafone signal reception is terrible with an internet service on a par with the old dial up and customer service is diabolical. As per overseas services, communication is difficult at best, empty promises, lack of understanding all topped with the now all to common attitude. This is the worst mobile provider you can choose, bad coverage, terrible customer service and they will spam you with text messages totally unrelated to their service. You pay a lot of money, as Vodafone is one the most expensive provider, and they will keep sending you marketing texts from their clients to make even more money on you. “Call and text charges are extortionate”

I'm a PAYG customer, so don't know if calls/texts are more expensive than on contract, but as I'm a light user, I don't want constant monthly charges. Current PAYG costs of 30p a minute and 14p a text is daylight robbery - greed, call it what you like compared to most, if not all other mobile networks. Once you get through, they're charming and sweet and helpful - as far as they can be, with an automated phone system that has been carefully designed to be as UNhelpful and slow as possible. Yup, I agree... for a phone company, they're incredibly shy about giving a number on which they can be contacted! It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm seriously considering cancelling my contract with them. It'd be easier to contact them if I drove to their Head Office and searched the building for a human.

I can honestly say its one of the worst companies. If you call the customer line and speak to someone then call back and speak to someone else you can guarantee they will tell you something completely contrary. 1st issue was setting up roaming: they didn’t place the bundle I requested on so I ended up with a large bill. Contacting vodaphone with any kind of problem is a nightmare. Like some other companies they only set up easilty accessinble contact details for purchasing the phone once you are hooked you are put in the proverbial keep net until your contract is nearing its end. “Vodafone - Shambolic is an understatement”

I pay Vodafone £47 a month for an iphone5s because I don't have broadband and because 3G is allegedly strong in my post code but have had no 3G signal since January unless I sit in my car! Contacted them 9 times to be told they have spoken to their technical team and there is no issue in my area. Then was told it was a temporary issue in May which was resolved in two days then got told today that there was a problem but it was rectified at 10am this morning. I’m sorry to see what’s happened.

When you bought the phone, was this done directly through Vodafone or via a third party? Also, is this a Pay as you go account?

It could be that the number is unregistered, in which case you can register by calling or logging into your My Vodafone account.

No I directly bought the phone and the Bristol Broadmead branch in April 07 I have been told the phone is registered but under a different name and due to data protection I'm not allowed the pac code altho there shouldn't be anyone else's name on the account. I would love to know why someone else's details are on my account

I am going through a similar experience with Vodafone. I have an internet dongle which I rarely use (hey it's vodafone, why would you), but to run down down my last block of credit I bought a month's internet on 27/04/14. It's showing up as bought in my account, but I can't access internet. When I contacted customer services, I was told that the address I provided didn't match their records so I checked my account and, although my name is correct, my date of birth has been altered and the address is somewhere I've never heard of 200 miles away. When I tell them this and ask them to suspend the account (I can't remove my credit card details - and something's clearly wrong at Vodafone) - all I get is "computer says no" responses. It looks like there are some serious data protection breaches going on there.

Vodafone lives on presumptions of their own which is that every thing is perfectly fine. I have been with Orange, Virgin, T Mobile and even 3 and Vodafone is the worst experience I have ever had with a communications company. I will get calls dropped continually for half an hour at a time in city centres so can`t blame rural locations. The internet connection is non existant and has been worse since 4g so 3g customers have just been forgotten.
