So far I have redone the complete sound system, I have a JVC head unit with Mutant 600 amp and Mutant sub, also I have an alpine powered sub, alpine 6 1/2 speakers on the parcel shelf and 6 by 9's on the parcel shelf to, also I have updated the standard metro speakers to 2 small alpine speakers. being 1997 it has a standard fuel injection which does make it quicker off the mark.

Hi,
What model Alpine front speakers have you got?, because I have the same car and want to upgrade mine but I am having trouble finding some that fit, also did you buy a connector to hook the speakers up,or just cut the "T" block off and attach normal speaker connectors on to the wires for the Alpines???
Cheers mate.

Well i have a Metro A Class 1 lt and i think it is a great car to have its on an F Plate and it has no rust its only just clocked 49000 Mile. It has a custom made turbo kit and 8" big bore exhaustm, K&N air filter, Recaro clubman bucket seats, 2 12" Pioneer Subs wid a 600amp and Kenwood 6x9's with a Pioneer head unit and to top it all off its running on 15" Fox alloys with low profiles. And for the birds well the birds love it, so don't dis down the Metro untill you have seen mine l8z

Hi!! I don't mean to be rude, but you can't get 15" on a Metro, as they haven't got big enough arches, and Fox alloys don't do wheels for Metro's either!! Sorry, but it's true.

The metro I owned was just like a go cart, it was a 1300 automatic and had no trouble seeing off 1400 mk I astras in very early 1990s. Was very nippy around town, even impressed friend who I sold it to, who had owned bigger quicker cars. Excellent fun round roundabouts, on twisty roads ect, especially being an auto, the auto box did not seem to sap too much power. Wouldn't bother modifing one (though could be fun if into that sort of thing, but why bother had plenty of character without it!) Really do not think females would be interested in metros, anyway, girls impressed by any car tend to be 16 and under!

Have always been a mini fan myself, so know there lots of tuning potential, but has anyone put a vauxhall c20xe or a honda vtec in one? is a popular mod for a mini, but requires a lot of work unless you have a clubman, should be easier on a metro though?

They're not bad cars.
As for birds? I guess your local ones must be very easily impressed!

Metros are quite nippy and very cheap to work on, but the question is.. why bother?
If you're happy with a 1 litre 'A series' car why not buy a Mini? The birds really love these, they look great (metros look naff & boxey), they're cheap and are faster.
