My shanghai "model 62" is about 35 years old, has been oiled 5 times, has never been cleaned, has been stashed away in a damp shed and a dusty attic but it never broke down and I still use it weekly with much pleasure. for me it is the perfect vermin killer and backyard plinker.

Please, if anyone knows anything re: Shanghai model " 62", which also has a diamond with a letter 'H' inside the diamond, at the stock end of the barrel, please let me know. ie: date of manufacture, history, etc. It is quite accurate, and shoots well. originally it shot high and left, and, as it only has an elevation site at the back, and a fixed front site inside a circle, and no windage adjustments, it took some getting used to. I know nothing about it, as I purchased it 2nd or 3rd? hand at a ...

I purchased this rifle for $25US, and knew before hand that I would be tearing it down and cleaning it up. It's a typical cheap Chinese break barrel rifle but seems to be fun to shoot and very easy to work on if you would need to. The velocity is cited as 650 FPS and as I have not broken in the rifle yet it isn't getting that velocity, given time it should get close with very light pellets. Using Beeman Lasers it is shooting a consistent 630 to 635, using Crosman CLH it is right at 500 FPS. The ...

My Shanghai B2 shoots so well I installed a weaver base in the bottom of the stock and added a $20 laser. Add this to the; $20 for the gun, $5 for paint, $25 for the red dot, and for less than $75 I have a fun, accurate, cheap to shoot, wonderful backyard weapon. I have two bullet traps in my yard. One holds shoot 'n 'c targets, for sighting in and checking zero. The other is a Gamo multiple target with a center reset. Add in a couple of backyard targets, :), and residential shooting is always ...

The Shanghai B2 is the typical cheap Chinese break-barrel sold frequently in the $20-$25 range (although sometimes for far more). At that, it's a so-so bargain... poor machining, sights that may or may not be of any use, velocity anywhere from 500-650fps. A good one can give some amount of reasonable service, a bad one will be nothing but a headache. It's greatest attraction is that it's not terribly difficult to work (and learn) on, but don't count on being able to make it into a decent shooter ...
