Good Points: usefull performance, vast space, equipment, superb economy, east to service, good parts availability
Bad Points: alternators can fail, water leaks into car, ill fitting sunroofs, corrosion, rear shocks, horrendously expensive water pump (turbo diesel)
General comments: I ran a 1993 LXD Rover Montego estate and recently sold it on with 270.000 miles on the clock, she still runs. As the mileage racked up, the performance and economy got better and better. The head gasket failed at 200.000 miles and i gave her a head rebuild and replaced the water pump, but expect to pay £70+ for a pump!. On the whole, she was reliable and dependable with only a failed alternator stopped her in her tracks, these Lucas A127 types are common for failing.
I miss the car, very underrated superb workhorse!
