Good Points: Economical, very reliable, still looks reasonably modern especially the estate, comfortable and loads of luggage space.
Bad Points: Poorly treated against rust from new, heater is pathetic even on a hot day the coolant temp is approx 65 Celsius so the heater has no chance.
General comments: I've had several Maestro and Montegos. They're a brilliant car, rust a bit but soundly engineered. We also have a Rover 600D which is a nice tidy car but I'd have a decent Rover Montego rather than the 600 anyday, its more comfortable for a start. If there were more about I'd have another and I'd recomend one to anybody. If you get the chance to own one do it, you'll have no regrets.
Mike.

I own a Rover Montego Countryman 2.0D Family Car Estate and had enjoyed driving her over a year. Now she seems to have developed some problems (wheen bearing gone, engine oil cap bursted etc. etc.) and I'm finding it extremely difficult to obtain spares. Does anyone know where I can get the spares. None of the online breakers such as Rover parts, partsdirect etc. seems to hold any and they say that the model is obselete. Can someone advise please?- Read eastlondonboy's review (97 words and 1 comment)
