The Holden Vectra is a well-built totally understated car. Value for money! Comparable spec to cars sold much more expensive. Drives like a dream. Good fuel economy - 10L in town, 6-7 on the open road. Best one I ever owned.

Well I must be one of the lucky ones (touch wood).
I bought a year old v6 Holden Vectra CD hatch with 13k on the clock. Macgraths Holden have been pretty good. I have had no problems bar a loss of PS fluid, a simple 'O' ring in the pipe connection and a cruise control switch (the one on the brake pedal) - both fixed in a day by the dealer. I run it on Optimax which gives great smoothness and power. The handling/ride/braking combination are a mile ahead of a normal Commodore etc and the finish o ...

The Holden Vectra is the best car I've ever owned. 2.5L V6 CD Auto Vectra Hatch. My car has now done in excess of 100,000 K's and has treated me very well. It let me down only once when the fuel pump decided to fail. The Holden boys took some convincing that it was actually the fuel pump because they say 'the fuel pumps on Vectra's never fail'.
My Vectra is very smooth and quiet with gear changes barely noticeable. The sports mode really does change the character of the car (making it more aggr ...

I hired a vectra in the uk in 98-not a bad car but after reading other peoples comments no way would i buy one. In 1990 i purchased a ford laser. I looked after it for 4 years (120.000klms) then started to give it a thrashing- second car used to go to work in 80k plus a day then passes on to my son 3 years ago. It has nearly 300.000klm's
2 cluches 6 sets of tyres one set of cv's at 160.000 and not a touch of rust-now that's a good car. Hydr. lifters are starting to make tappets noisy now but i ...

I own a 97 cd hatch v6 holden Vectra. I bought the car new from the showroom before i even test drove it. So far I have not been able to fault the car. This car has only done 43,000klm in its life so I dont think I have any need to sell it yet
Fuel economy is excellent, on a trip to melbourne 7.3 litres per 100ks at an average of 94kph
Power is sufficient to tow a 17 foot boat quite easily but fuel economy does suffer.
Looks and styling is great even after nearly five years it still gets the ...

I have always bought Holdens, but the Vectra will be my last. My husband bought the Vectra V6 for my 40 th birthday I was really happy to get my first automatic, air conditioned car and it looked very classy but sadly it has been a huge disappointment. It has been more off the road than on the road. Now it is out of warranty we can't afford the constant repairs and delays. I have been without a car for three weeks and they still don't know how to fix it.
