Before going to the Car Shop i was quite apprehensive as i had never bought a car on my own before. The staff were very hepfull and explained everything to me fully, without sounding patronising. The best thing was that they actually demonstrated to me how i could save money in the payments. I wouldn't go anywhere else now!

The car shop is absolutely great. I loved the fact that they would actually bring cars to me, rather than me having to trail around. From the beginning to end the process was flawless.
The staff had a high level of knowledge about the cars, and i now have a lovely new car which all my family love.

In buying my new car I really felt like the staff were looking out for my interests, they even demonstrated how i could actually save money.
I now have a lovely new car which my family and i are all very impressed with.

Really good choice, I looked round on the web for a week prior to visiting and phoned a lot of dealers to get the best deal, basically I saved just over £1200 on my car, ok its a no frills service if I had gone to the bmw garage I would have got 6mths tax free fuel and mats but I think my £1278 saving more than covers that. Went to see a Honda CRV executive which I was told was "mint condition" travelled 200 miles for the privilage only to find (and I'm no mechanic) but the two front tyres were severely worn on the inside so the tracking was miles out, there was a tear in the leather rear seat, the headlamp washer was broken off, the rear or the car was full of autumn leaves, the fog and brake lights were inoperative, the sat nav was asking for a code and there was a bolt missing from the front of the engine that s ...

I knew I was buying a good car from The Car Shop. It wasn't an Aston Martin so I didn't get taken out to dinner, but everything they said they did and a year later the car has a resale value that is not far from what I paid for it!

Do not go near the finance. You can get this elsewhere much cheaper. I arranged my PCP finance with another company which was much cheaper. I needed the Car Shop to invoice this other company and they would transfer the money over. The salesman at the Swindon site said this couldn't be done! I eventually bypassed the "Business Manager" and went straight to the Finance department who sent the invoice over. I had a really good experience at The Car Shop Northampton. I got a Y reg Ford Fiesta for a lot cheaper than at any of my local garages.Staff were really helpful.Saw the car online on the Car Shop's website before going to view it at the car supermarket.Would recommend!

We bought a Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI from The Car Shop. The car needed rubber grommets fitting to the sills. I asked for this to be done and was told it would be before we collected the car. The day we arrived to collect it, the grommets were still missing, and had to wait for it to be done. We went to The Car Shop looking for a Ford Galaxy, but there weren't any in our price range, so we were shown a SEAT Alhambra. This was described to us as a 150bhp model, and the specification was good, but we were running late to collect our daughter, so we left a £450 deposit, as they said the car would be gone if we didn't. They showed me 2 cars making out they were the spec and model I wanted, but I had to send them back after checking the engine type under the bonnet.
If you want to haggle you have to do it with the forecourt man. They make this as difficult as possible.
Watch out for extra costs- warranty (£300) and credit card surcharge (4% is £200 on a £5k car) Make sure the tyres are legal.
What you see is what you get- once they have your cash they don't care any more.

I would seriously advice people not to put down deposits for cars they have seen on the Internet. My brother and I contacted The Car Shop regarding a Ford Focus. It had unfortunately been sold but he informed us of the availability of a similar car that had only just arrived, a 5 door 1.6 Zetec (2003) for £6,274 (around 23,000 miles). Our Car Shop experience: The car buying experience is spoiled. The 'suited' dealers are pushy. The process is rushed. The management are patronising. They seem to want to grab your cash and move on asap. They don't tell you the offer of 7 days free insurance is only valid once you've chased it. You cannot drive away the same day as advertised.
