I bought a brand new unit in 2008. After clocking a little more than 100K kilometers the car often went into limp mode. Dealer said that it needs about US2+++ to fix it i.e. replacing the diesel pump, railing, injectors.....etc. The car looks great but very poor after sales support. I'm very surprised that despite so many complains especially about the vehicle "lost of power" posted in the internet...the people in nissan failed to successfully fix the problems. Also vibration is a major... (read more)

When I bought my Navara I was never told about the 40 km/hour limit when in 4x4. Yet you canot turn corners so what good is that! My 2.5l with full options has scared me a few times in light snow conditions but finally after an accident free life (now 42) it finally spun in heavy snow. I have owned many 4x4's and this one should be checked out for a default. It is dangerous and something should be done! (read more)

Then no oil pressure - bent shaft in oil pump 8k followed by turbo charger 6.5k and now just to top it all off i have a broken crankshaft estimated cost 25k. Need to slip the clutch whenever taking off, and have no hope of taking off on a hill with the loaded trailer. Lets start with the good stuff. The Navara Tekna flies, it is a superb motorway vehicle. But I did not purchase a Navara for performance or long drives. Instead I wanted something practical and there is no doubt that these trucks are spacious. So if you want lots of room and over 180 bhp in a truck then the Tekna ticks the boxes. Yes agree 100%. have always beleived Nissan to be cheap but reliable and good value for money. NOT any more...cheap and nasty would be more accurate. Poor support from Nissan main dealer. Vehicle is not cheap if you end up spending loads more money to keep the rubbish vehicle on the road. Would not even recommend to my worst enemy to buy one....next vehicle will spend a little bit more to begin with and get a reliable motor and hopefully better main dealer support.

Have just seen your post from last year. Nissan is 2004 Deisel, not been flogged and serviced every 9,000 miles. The problem stems from design fault where the oil strainer pickup is poorly fixed to the block and relies on an O ring which often fails around the 70,000 miles mark. Have had engine re-built with an adaption from engine re-builder which sleeves the O ring and holds it in position. Poor design on Nissan's behalf which has cost me a lot of money. No help from main dealer because warranty expired before engine failed. Certainly will never buy another Nissan.....pile of excrement

Hi Unfortunately would not agree with you. We have a new Navara STX Dual Cab (brought Oct 2010) and at purchase replaced the style side tray with a drop side (dealer organised) upon driving away with the vehicle our first trip was camping whilst towing boat. The Suspension on the vehicle could not handle the tow & load under 500kg and proceeded to bottom out on every driveway and speed bump however Nissan's response was 'sorry' can't help...maybe you should replace the suspension!!! You've got to be kiddin' me. If the vehicle is advertised as a 'tradesman's' ute then it should be able to handle a 'tradesmans' load!!!!!!! And to top it all off...the leather on the steering wheel is now falling apart!!! Would strongly advise against buying this vehicle!

The Navara D40 looks beautiful and you might think Nissan is great, but this is not the case. Nissan tech support has been unable to fix anything. Do not buy this vehicle you will regret it, I am trying to get rid of it, the worst new truck i have ever bought.
