purchased the truck 1 year ago , loved it to death untill 66000 miles where the old rod through the block game raised its head. It seems I was the last person in the world to find this really common problem . The driver of the tow truck said this was the norm at +50k miles . seriously expensive repair, may have to sell wife, children and eat the cats. GUTTED!

Very good value for money and by far the best looking truck on the road. Never had any problems with reliability and the performance is very good for the size of the vehicle. With an average mpg of 35.5 this is far better than most of its competitors. I use this as a family car and the interior is every bit as good as most cars on the road- Read Guest's review (68 words)

Bought this in feb 2007 and had done 28000 miles. excellent condition. down to london and back loads of times at 70mph. work and back at 55mph. pulled several people out of dykes no problem. always checked oil, water etc. then on a sunny morning on the way to work, KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK BANG. Con rods mangled. Cost to repair £5k. I'm not buying another one.- Read Guest's review (64 words)

Own an 02 and 05 plate Navara. Rubbish trucks and useles after-sales. Will tow a caravan all day but not a real workhorse. Had to uprate suspension as getting pulled by ministry as the trucks look overweight when they have a load on, even though we have them weighed. 05 han gear box out at 8000 miles. New clutches at 11000, 21000 and 36000 miles. Crown wheel smashed at 12000 miles so had complete new difff under warranty. Engine blew at 36000 miles. Nissan said at the time that it was not a com ...- Read grumpytaff's review (236 words)

Athough it's not technically mine (Plod motor) this one has had a single clutch at 100k miles - now on over 150k. It's driven 24/7 on and off road by some drivers that are less than sympathetic mechanically yet still goes on. Goes really well (for a big 4x4) and handles tidily. The ESP/ABS/4WD warning lights have just come on but it still drives and that was probably because it's taken some serious abuse in the snow and low temps. Other than tyres, brakes and servicing that is all that has been ...- Read Guest's review (112 words)

I have had my navara for 4 years now, it's serviced every 7000 miles, no problems to report, 100% reliable, on full lock there is a knocking noise, but this is a common fault. Still on original brake pads after 70'000miles, the only thing that has been changed is the tyres, had a tracking problem to begin with but this was rectified at a local digital tracking centre, no probs since. Maybe i have been lucky with mine!

Hello all happy owners.
Bought used at dealership in Sweden. Failed first car inspektion due to oil leak from driveshafts both sides. Had to pay from own pocket. Now 7500 km later engine gave up. Crusing along motorway in steady 120 km/h and ping ping. Sound in one second then gone. Pulled over to find out that one cyl had lost compression. Its coming out in the intake manifold. Most likely a valve problem. Car is going to dealership tomorrow for inspection. I`l be back.

I have owned 2 nissan navaras in last 6 yrs. first was outlaw, clutch went within 20,000mls -- hasn,t been used for towing. 36,000mls engine gone--- conrod through engine casing. After a lot of hassle, managed to get these done on warranty.Notwithstanding, the vehicle was sat in Wessex Grgs , Cardiff for over 6 months. 40k, 4 clutches now on solid mass fly wheel and heavy duty clutch, which is now on its way out.Nice car, useless as a work horse.Brakes don't work if you tow a trailer and try and stop going down hill.Brakes don't work in the snow.new air bags on recall.new central locking. don't buy one unless you only do the school run. one good point they look good- Read Guest's review (71 words)

We are going to tow 2.0 tonne with it eventually, for such a little motor (diesel Turbo, with auto trans) i reckon the Nissan Navara goes great. Ive not had a 4WD before & reckon its smoother ride than the Holden Crewman by heaps, a little floaty though. Speedo is rubbish as it reads about 113 KPH at 100 KPH. Heaps of room inside as we have the back seat folded up to use the space. I'm 6'1" & not squashed.- Read Guest's review (76 words)

I have had my Nissan Navara 2 years and nothing has gone wrong with it, even though ive towed a 9 tone boat and had 4 tone of sand in the bed on numerous occasions and reached speeds of over 140 mph and its now got fifty thousand miles on it and im still on my first set of tires.- Read Guest's review (56 words)

Major Issues with the clutch going. Have done 70,000k and vehicle is now on 3rd clutch, yes 3rd clutch.
Nissan Australia customer service are less than hopeless.I think Nissan Australia might be close to imploding.
Apart from that I am very happy.
Navara does need protection plates underneath and a min. 50mm suspension lift to be effective off-road.- Read Guest's review (59 words)

had my 55 plate nissan navara outlaw for six months, it's done 48000 miles.i've done 6000 miles, it's had new 4x4 switches, brake pads and disc's, faulty central locking, and to top it all off the clutch and fly wheel is on it's last leg's nissan's quoted £1300 for the privlage. another bad point it could'nt pull the skin off a rice pudding. going back to the old indistructable nissan patrol 4.2 or a landcruiser- Read Guest's review (72 words)

I've just passed the magic 120000 mile mark with no blow up. Previously owned a Toyota Hi Lux and a Mitsubishi L200. The D22 Navara is better than both solid, reliable, quick (for a pickup) and pulls my 1500kg Caravan with no problems. Forded a river the other day and hardly knew I was in it.
Yes there is the clunking noise when on full lock but regular greasing seems to sort it out, have developed a fault with the rear load gate but nothing a hammer couldn't sort out. If I could change anything ...- Read Guest's review (155 words)

I've had my Nissan Navara 9 years and the only time she's broken on me was when the power steering belt broke. We have pulled 2 tonne trailers and travelled on and off road and never got stuck cant fault her. ok she's thirsty i get 300 miles on a tank but she weighs nearly 3 tonnes and im only on my third set of tires but we have done 142 thousand miles together. she is the best car i've ever owned and will not let her go till she fades away. i have the oil changed every 5000 miles and servised ...- Read jaba338's review (112 words)
