Would just like to thank everyone who has commented on Nissan Navara & pointed out the many problems with them.
I was on the verge of buying one before stumbling on this website. I shall certainly steer well clear now.

We have a Nissan Navara 02 import from new it has been main dealer serviced at 6k intervals. At about 48k the dealer did the cam chain during the sevice (as a precaution, free of charge). It now has 125k on the clock and still gives 30+mpg most of the time and is still running strong. the last mot advice was front dampers. the last service advice was front pads now75% worn.
So 6years and no parts to replace just yet! other than service and tyres. I have found Avon Ranger tyres to be ok for road a ...

Trying to over come a fluctuating problem in stereo, Nissan have gone down a few paths but do not seem to know what to do next. Would like any one with a similar prob to post a comment sounds if it drops from stereo to mono.

This is the third and last Nissan Navara that will be bought .. bluetooth and clutch issues on 55 & 06 reg. 3 clutches in 28,000 miles. OK the vehicle does tow and go off road but if it cannot cope make it two wheel drive and Nissan should not allow tow bars to be fitted. Earlier manual models were very good on fuel. 55 reg empty on the motorway sat just below 70 could easily acheive between 35-40mpg. 06 reg loaded return 26-28. 08 reg auto approx 16-18mpg. Gear change pattern is all wrong, revs ...

I purchased the new Nissan Navara (my only vehicle) in Aug 2005 and have had problems with it ever since. I am just about to go through 100,000 miles and I can honestly say there has never been a day when it has been 100% fully functional!
Local dealers use the term 'goodwill' in regard to their warranty work. To date it has had, 5 clutches, 3 turbo's, 2 sets of half shafts, 3 radios, a temp gauge (that was actually pilfered from another Navara on the forecourt in front of me!), 3 reversing ligh ...

We have a Nissan Navara 54 plate D22 bought from brand new got from local garage, thinking since it was new we would be looked after, Oh how wrong we were! The engine has come to a grinding halt 3 1/2 years old and knackered, (scrap metal) we are a small buisness and are reliant on our vehical this could be the demise of it all, we are very upset. We have to go to Trading Standards with this, there has to have been a problem in the manufacture of this pickup its happened to so many people
Nissan ...

We have a 4 year old Nissan Navara which did something that everyone now tells us is a common fault with these and left us stranded on the Isle of Skye with a con rod through the box and all the oil on the road. Only done 49000 miles and always serviced by Nissan. We were advised by the garage to get Nissan to look at it. They now want to charge us £7,450 for a new engine and we still have to get it home from Scotland.

Driving down the m1 at 70mph and my conrod knocked like a drum. My Navara 2003 is the worst truck I have ever ever ever and ever owned, I have lost thousands as the engine is knackered, don't buy a Nissan Navara unless you are loaded.

You should have been in the fast lane at 60 mile an hour when the con rod went harrowing doesn't discribe the full effect catastrophic engine failure is the technical word for it. Very disapointed with the nissan aftersale attitude no help at all. Thanks Nissan you are no help, been with you for 12 years 4 vehicals good bye cannot afford you any more as your customer after care is very poor the main point you miss is no more customers no more sales we will not come back and bad news is bad news ...

Trying to get parts order for your Nissan Navara, impossible as they so many common problems know about and I haven't heard of any official announcement about them yet.
You have to your vehicle in to inspected first for warranty then they order parts ask you bring back so drive back as booked in then you arrive and say the parts here they are still on back order. This happens everytime I need the car repaired under warranty and when they fix it last's about 3 months before failing again.

My Navara happily tows 3 tonnes with an average load in the pich up.
Good offroad with decent tyres.
But why has Nissan not taken responsibility for the conrod issue? Will never buy Nissan again.

The dealer I use are useless. The only courstesy car they have is a Nissan Micra, and you have to wait 3 weeks to book that. When you've just spent 21k on a truck for business, a micra just isn't big enough (although it is probably a damn site safer). The dealer when pushed to collect the truck because something else has broken, tell me they can't collect because no-one is insured to drive customers cars, then put you on hold and advertise their "collection and delivery service!
When i took out ...

My Nissan Navara is 19 months old and 29,000 miles on the clock, the engine blew whilst it was idling. Broken camshaft, broken timing gear teeth, bent valves, hammered pistons, etc.. Having major rows with Nissan warranty claims dept to get it sorted. Dealer is very helpful but Nissan themselves are painfully slow to respond. Vehicle is still off the road after a fortnight.

My Nissan Navara needed a new clutch at 20,000. Engine blew after being started for 1 minute and still cold at 30,000, dealer quoted overheating! Nissan coughed up 2/3rds at which point the dealers admitted it looked like the timing chain had failed due to the tensioner wearing, but Nissan had told them not to say anything!Stupidly high parts prices include:Seatbelt worn, quoted £200, Hubcaps (the poxy plastic one's) £45 EACH, gear stick knob £90.It rattles and grinds aroun ...

Dealership Parks offering Micra courtesy car very similar to Navara? there are no Navaras available, except the three in forecourt. Just seen ENCAP review might be safer in Micra. Cannot order parts/engine till Nissan warranty engineer looks at it 7 days after breaking down needs new engine and is on back order 10 March?
