Talex Lite is the best device with accurate reading of speed and information it gives.
I have been using it for past year or so and it certainly makes the driver aware of road safety. Depending on road, traffic and weather conditions, one is able to drive in safety, without resorting to turn into an F1 Driver.

I have had a Talex lite for nearly 3 years and have had major problems everytime I need to update the data. The download does not work, the phone numbers on the web site do not work and if you send an email to Technical support it will be returned as undeliverable. This is not acceptable when they are charging £24.99 for 1 year of updates and nearly £50 for 3 years.
If you are thinking of buying a Talex - dont until you have tried their support numbers and email- Read Guest's review (88 words)

Talex Lite is a good all rounder with a great database and even beats some of the sat nav databases including a well known pocket gps database which seems more intent of removing live sites than keeping it on the database.- Read pocketfairy's review (88 words)

Talex Lite went faulty within months of purchase and was returned to Talex . I am still waiting for a replacement! Blue led's too bright at night, a real distraction. Talex are not very customer service orientated- Read Guest's review (36 words)

I bought my Talex Lite in April 2007 and found it was great at spotting the camera's although warns you a little too late for mobile cameras. My subscription ran out this year and they didn't contact me to renew but I can still update over the net even now.
However, I have noticed over the last 2-3 months that some cameras which were previously being caught are now being missed which means I no longer trust the Talex.
Talex were bought out last year and I think the database has gone downhill sin ...- Read Guest's review (137 words)

Ive been trying to buy the 3 yr subscription kit now for the last 3 weeks and no one at Talex will confirm they have received my order. Sadly they don't return phone calls or reply to Emails.
I would certainly advise to take caution if you are considering the possibility of an update kit being available.- Read STEVE DIBBLE's review (71 words and 3 comments)

My Talex purchase has been a disaster - inaccurate and a re-pack, although bought as a new unit. This arrived in a tatty box and when a "replacement" unit was supplied they merely put the original in yet another tatty box and returned to me. They do NOT reply to E-mails. This is the maker! Fails to detect correctly and gives many false alerts. Speed statements are erratic and could land one in trouble.
Currently awaiting a returns number, but I'm 100% sure they will not supply after my previous ...- Read barnowlnoddy's review (125 words)

Have had my Talex Lite now for 6 months and am still delighted with it - bought the renewal subscription on-line, again with no problems. I have purchased from Talex (£3.25) an additional magnetic mount which makes the device portable between our two cars.- Read MartinG's review (99 words)

I have owned this unit for well over a month now, having purchased it for £70 in Comet (which surprisingly was cheaper than Talex's own Website!).
The Talex has been faultless, detecting ALL the cameras (& mobile sites) in my home county of Lincolnshire (which is swamped with the things!). The unit also performed perfectly on a trip to the Home Counties and later on the roads to Edinburgh.
The Talex Lite does everything you require from a camera detector giving plenty of warning of an u ...- Read Richie78's review (199 words and 3 comments)

Talex Lite, excellent value £60 Aldi, having tried other makes this simple yet very accurate device works 100% from database. No false alarms like ALL the others. Tells you the speed limit for camera, slow down message in a pleasant clear voice. Clear display on this tiny unit which is easy to hide.
Easy to download updates, you can add your own local sites. I have ordered another unit for our other car,
I cannot recommend this unit more highly, BUY ONE!!!- Read banger's review (111 words)

Talex Lite - Bought from woolworths, plug it in, wait a few moments for the unit to spring to life, then away you go.
Every camera position is voiced out in a clear audio female voice
e.g.
"Speed Camera 500 yards ahead"
Even if you go over the limit, this thing tells you to slow down.
"reduce your speed now"
Crystal clear in every way, and even acts like a speedo with digital display.
What a bargain, and a lot cheaper than other brands on the shelves. ...- Read poppypicanto's review (122 words)

Having just bought the Talex Lite at a show in London. I fitted it before setting out for home (Midlands) It proved its worth within 2 hours.
It detects every static camera including red light ones, tells you your speed, advises you to slow down, advises you to take rest after 2 hours driving (normal mode) warns you of regular mobile areas. I travelled a total of 144 miles on the way home and it detected every camera on route, and warned me of several mobile detection areas regulary used. On ar ...- Read Highlanderjc's review (140 words)
