    Good Points: Bright, fast response, good price


    Bad Points: I got some weird shadowing effects after about a year and a half, seems like its getting worse.


    General comments: I've bought the Acer AL1717 about 2 years ago. Originally, it gave a very crisp, bright image. Over the years, it has become less bright (I use it 9 hours a day for 5 days a week, so it's getting a good workout), but the most worrying thing is that I get some sort of shadowing. For instance, when i draw a horizontal line, on the right side of it, the line will continue in gray and fade away. Pretty weird and I think it's getting worse which I think is not ok after just 2 years of usage.
    The speakers are pretty weak too, but who uses LCD screen speakers anyway.
    Overall i think its a reasonable price/quality screen.

    I like the Acer AL1717 very much as it has a fast response of 5 ms and a horizontal viewing angle is about 160 degrees, which is quite a bit better than other brand LCDs.

    The screen on my Acer AL1717 LVD monitor is very bright, and shows very clear on any resolution for gaming. 15MS reaction time.
