Have used u-Switch before without problems but.......... “Don't trust them ”

“Painless process to shift utility, but no changes in cost ”

I moved from my incumbent to a new utility provider when Uswitch showed that they were ~35% cheaper than my current deal. While the move was completely painless, I was shocked to receive by my new provider (EON) an email (even before my first payment) saying that they need to increase my direct debit by 50%. Given it was before the 1st month makes be think that the lower rate initially was a gimmick to switch and now I am stuck for 12 months with a higher rate… Read Full Review

“No comparison without your phone number”

For security reasons I do not normally advertise my phone number. When I called uSwitch for a comparison I was told that unless I provided my phone number I would not be given a quote. They said that Uswitch website was the same as every other comparison site and I wouldn't get a better deal so I went ahead with Uswitch. “Nothing but hassle and stress”

USwitch is only interested in their commission. My experience was a disaster. I ended up being billed twice by BOTH energy companies. USwitch never handled the switch correctly as promised. “Fees now due to U Switch failure”

“Absolute Rubbish”

Cancelled a switch request on line but still received an e mail saying my details had been passed to a new supplier, phoned u choose and was told yes the details had been sent and that I couldn't have cancelled on line and they were unable to cancel by phone, only way to cancel was to phone the supplier, I did this and was kept waiting on hold for 25 mins only to be told when I finally got through that the switch had already been cancelled. “Be careful....”

Used U-Switch to change from EDF to Scottish Eletric. Their comparisons indicated SE were much better value (we shall see...), so I used them for the switch-over. Unfortunately SE it appears are utterly incompetent, incapable of taking 3 simple readings correctly. Their CS is abysmal, even going as far as to hang up on me after making me wait an well over an hour for their callback!! On your recommendation I recently switched to First Utility for energy supply. Unfortunately , I gave them an incorrect reading for my Gas Meter. I immediately realised what I had done and tried to rectify it. This has proved to be one of the worst experiences of my life and I promise that in future I shall not have any dealings with either U switch or First utility. “Free wine offer - No voucher”

I took up a deal to switch energy suppliers with a free wine voucher included in the offer some 6 months ago. U switch have failed to honour this or respond to emails and phone calls. “Not interested in following up”

The website was straightforward to use to request a switch from ScottishPower (too expensive and have you tried ringing their call centre recently?). However, after the initial email in December congratulating me on my switch, I heard nothing from the new supplier or Uswitch. After 3 weeks, I emailed Uswitch asking them to confirm the switch was going forward. After a further 3 weeks, I had a reply from Uswitch confirming they had passed the information on. My experience entirely. Used Uswitch to switch to Scottish Power. Received e-mail from them confirming the switch but on hearing nothing from Scottish Power I telephoned Scottish Power who said they had no record of receiving the switch request. Phoned Uswitch who wanted my switch reference number. Did not have this as thought it would be on the switch confirmation e-mail. It wasn't. Uswitch said someone from customer services would phone me back. They didn't. Since then have received numerous e-mails from them congratulating me on my alleged savings. Had to do a new switch through another company. Switch not yet completed and do not know whose fault it is.

I have been duped. Reassured that I'd be switching both gas & electricity providers and promised frozen rates for 15 months, I had an outstanding payment (£100) which was instantly made to the electricity company and 15 days later Uswitch simply informed me that the switch was being blocked. No reasons given, no personalised message or advice offered. There appears to be no means of reply to emails either.
