4 years and 41,000 miles, just got out of warranty and an ignition unit failed, cost £300 including diagnostics, this has also wrecked the CAT which we haven't replaced yet but will cost about £500. The gearbox is now noisy with what sounds like knackered layshaft bearings, finally the washers have stopped, almost certainly the 10A fuse but the fuse diagram in the handbook bears no resemblance to the fuse box on the car.

I thought the Citroen C3 1.4 Desire has cheap, poor build qu ...

Citroen C3 XTR 1.4HDI does look a bit different. Does 70 mpg on the motorway with 4 passengers and around 52mpg round town. £35/year road tax. Yes it's a small car so what sort of ride do you expect! 40,000 miles now. roof bars very useful. No issues really. Went down from a Picasso. Can do 500miles in a day without feeling tired. Would I have another one? yes please!

Great car to drive whilst in the town, but once on the motorway you then feel how light the car is (sidewinds).
Great Diesel engines that come from Citreon/Peugeot
Local Dealer (Arnold Clark) are a very poor Citreon Dealer.
    Poor Servive (Not Recomended).

Best comfort of all superminis. Quiet and the chairs are lovely. Cheap to buy and run. Feels 100 times better then the Fiesta's, Clio's and Fabia's I have had before.

The Citroen C3 is fantastic. I love it. Its sound system is brilliant and it has a lot of character. The interior design and digital effects within the dashboard are fantastic. It is my first car and is extremely reliable its never let me down. Perfect car.

This is the first, and unfortunately the last Citroen I will own.

I bought the C3 Desire in August 2006, and it seemed perfect as I drove off the forecourt. Only weeks later the faults started to appear.

First of all a squeaking noise in the cabin started, and over the next few weeks got more frequent and louder. My local dealership in Aylesbury couldn't hear anything to my surprise, and in the end I tracked it down to the stereo fascia. I removed the stereo myself and demanded a replaceme ...

We bought our Citroen C3 Desire in Cardiff and I wish we never had. Only after one month we had problems with it. The most dangerous of faults is that at 60MPh - 70Mph the car suddenly decelerates and then accelerates. The engine management light comes on and goes off. When I took the car, just one month old, to the dealership they plugged it in and said that no fault was found and therefore they couldn't do anything! This has since happened 6 times, the dealership and Citroen seem totally disi ...

My '04' C3 and I will shortly be parting company after a year together. I won't be sorry to see it go. Having just gone back to Citroen for new roof mouldings (they kept pinging off) and yet another look at the brakes that drone very VERY loudly and not forgetting my loud squeak from the front wheels Citroen say the car is fine. I say the car is a heap of tin - never ever again :-(

I bought a 53 plate Citroen C3 from new. Probably the most unreliable car I have ever known. No less than 13 trips to the service centre in two years. The injectors have failed, the wipers burned out, the oil filter was cracked (after a service!) the electrics have died twice. I'm on the third stereo, the headlight has filled with water (after a service) the wipers fell off (after a service).

All in all this is a terrible car. Poor visibility, limited power, appalling gearbox and a comple ...

I have had my 2005 Citroen C3 1.4 Desire for 2 months now and have already done 3000 miles. I bought the car after 3 years with my Fiesta. My daily commute averages around 90 miles, so I was seeking an economical yet comfortable car with a bit of character. I have not been disappointed. The car drives like a dream, is very quiet and refined and feels as solid as a rock. I have never had a French car before let alone a Citroen, preferring (in my mind) to play it safe with Fords and Mitsubish ...

I have just taken delivery of a Citroen C3 Desire 1.4 HDi Family Car. My dealer in Newcastle got me a great deal and I am more than happy with the car. I went down in size from a Picasso and am impressed with the space still available in the C3. For a small car, it packs a huge load.
With the diesel engine returning about 70MPG it is a star on economy, but the diesel engine is a bit noisy compared to the petrol version.
Can't believe the spec does not include an exterior temperature gauge.
    Ov ...

Engine and interior wise the Citroen C3 is a very capable small car with a big car feel, although repeated minor defects keep adding up and now I'm wishing I'd walked past the citroen garage and straight into the Honda garage next door.
