Good Points: I have had my C3 XTR for 2 1/2 years now and I have been completely satisfied. It has never let me down. Its high gearing 29mph per 1000 rpm means that it cruises quietly and economically at the legal limit. My wife and I (both in our 70s) have driven it from Berwick upon Tweed to Plymouth , almost 600 miles in a day without undue fatigue. It is remarkably economical. The on board computer usually records 64 mpg, though how accurate that is I don't know. It is also remarkably nippy. 0 to 60 in 10 seconds would not impress Jeremy Clarkson, but it's fine for me.

Bad Points: The roof rack cross bars are pathetic. They will only fix in one position, about 2' 0" apart. Too close for carrying a child's bicycle, let alone a surf board.

General comments: I think the relatively large low revving diesel engine is its strong point. I also appreciate the seats being slightly higher than normal, and the thoughtful touches like drawers beneath each front seat. Overall, the citroen C3 XTR is an excellent small car !

I first reviewed my Citroen C3 from new (March 2005) when it had only done a few thousand miles. My 90 mile commute to work has now added up and have just gone past the 12k mark - It has not let me down once. This is my update on the car because I have seen quite few negative reviews of the car and to be honest have been almost bracing myself for something to go wrong. It hasn't yet and after such a lot of miles in it's young life I can truthfully say that it is still a very fine, good value, ...

I purchased my Citroen C3 XTR Automatic Sensor Drive from Launch in March 2004 with a 3yr warranty! This beeing the first car I have purchased from New after driving an M plate Fiesta 1.6si for 5yrs. Unfortunately the mileage accummulated to 98,000miles. I commute and cover a 100mile round trip daily for my career. I decided to trade my fiesta in for the C3 on GREAT, 100% reliability recommendations from the Citroen sales Manager himself. I have also dealt with a few of my complaints with The Fr ...
