Good Points: None.
Bad Points: Very hard and uncomfortable.
General comments: The sultan hamno matress from IKEA is hard as a rock. It was supposed to be medium, but in fact I spent a sleepless night on it. They wouldn't accept it back because we threw out the packaging. I ended up spending more money for an extra matress to be kept on top - the Sultan Tuvebo. That helped a bit.
I was very disappointed with IKEA.

The Sultan mattress I bought from Ikea sagged where I slept within one month and since then I've struggled with neck and back pain when I wake up in the morning. After one year of sleeping on different positions on it to try not to sag it in the same spot each time, I'm going to throw it out and buy a new mattress. I deserve better sleep for what I paid for it, and Ikea should reject this inferior product as soon as possible.

I love the Ikea Sultan Hamno bed. I've slept on it for two years! I love sleeping on it. Firm but comfortable!

The Ikea Medium Hamno mattress is ROCK hard, and even Ikea can't decide whether to change it's category, as half the time they are selling it as medium and half the time as hard. Save your back, and save your shoulders.

I first bought the Sultan Hustad mattress, and for the first week I thought it was about the most comfortable mattress I had slept on. For me it turned out to be too soft, and you can sort of tell that the Hustad is the bare minimum in some way. It hardly supports you. So I took it back to IKEA and they allowed me to return it very easily, after having had it for two months (though I did have the original bag and the receipt, and it should be said: they only allow you to return a mattress for ...

It is rated as a mid firm mattress, but it is actually like sleeping on the floor; it is that hard! Customer service is terrible, and I have been told it may be different to the one in the shop, as this is bounced on by customers several times a day, making it softer! I have arthritis, and I bought the Ikea Sultan Hamno to help my back pain! I have now had it 6 weeks, and it is as hard as the day I bought it! I am now £220 out of pocket, with a useless mattress.

It sagged after 1 week, and we could feel springs through the top of the mattress. The sides had also started to collapse. IKEA customer service was just as bad as the Sultan Hamno bed, and it took a serious amount of shouting at them before we got a refund.

I bought an Ikea Sultan Hmano and found it too firm for me so I woke up with back pain. Maybe this is specific to each person but for me, it was uncomfortable, but to add to Ikea's lack of customer service, they would not budge on their policy that they would not take back a used mattress. I had used one night, one half night where I woke up in pain and could not go to sleep. I was never even told throughout my whole mattress purchase that it would be non-refundable.

The problem was not so much a faulty mattress but a complete lack of customer service. Although I have a receipt and Ikea offer a 25 year guarantee, unless I take the mattress myself personally 50 miles to my nearest branch they will not deal with me. I have not even had an apology for the sale of faulty goods. I would strongly recommend against buying any large item from Ikea as they are not customer orientated and offer no service at all.
