la fontaine was a clean, basic very italian pleasant place to be. service and quality of food was second to none i.e. always stuffed. the jounenceuax chair lift was on your door step and took you directly to ski school(stay on the chairlift to the top). the hotel has a large plasma screen in the bar lounge area with a selection of dvds to watch if you choose to stay in. it doesnt get noisey and lively at night as some brochures have stated. hotel is ideal for couples and families.. Lots of red runs, restaurants and bars on the slopes with great food and drink, be prepared to pay for drink- 4-5 euros a pint. my wife and i got duty free spirits at turin for a few cheeky drinks at our hotel room which proved to be a good idea as we were always to tired to go out at night. the welcome meeting is at edel weis hotel, ignore the map given as you will get lost. simply look up the hill to the left of the chair lift, thats it and walk up the slope its easier. go on the bar crawl cos you get a free drink in 5 of the best bars. you probably won't go out again as cos we didnt. nearest supermarket and pharmacies are in sauze and are closed between 1 and 4pm. Only 2 bad points. not a very good resort for beginners as there is only one blue run (blue 13) but there are 2 small slopes at ski school with easy to get on conveyer belts for those with early chair lift jitters. sauze d'oulx is 20 mins up hill, easy coming back though. fabulous place to go and cant complain so i'll finish with a small comment on janglers 943 rant on la fontaine and sauze d'oulx- ignore it completely. cant wait to go back!!!

La Fontaine Hotel had nice food and a bell rings when you need to go and eat. Walking distance from the ski lift! Little room for skis and stuff outside and out of the way. Very nice staff and a lovely little pub bit with a TV and lots of games. Good for the kids and the adults.Quite small and private.
Drinks were quite expensive! It was quite icy and a steep walk up to the main village.
A very nice holiday and would love to go back!- Read Guest's review (89 words)

If your looking to stay at a commercialised hotel located next to the clubs and bars with all the mod cons, then this is not the place for you.
However if your looking to experience proper Italian hospitality, excellent Italian food, and door step skiing then I would highly recommend La Fontaine to any small group, couple or family. The rooms were basic but clean, our balcony's overlooked the red 12 run.
The food at the hotel was fantastic comprising of typical continental style breakfast; cerea ...- Read dazmor's review (219 words)

We arrived Torino airport where our thoughtful Panorama Rep Wendy with a colleague were blocking the exit doorway and having waited 45mins for the baggage to arrive queuing an extra 10 minutes to exit was somewhat fraught. Having escaped the airport baggage area we then had to walk 10 minutes to the coach park. Wendy offered a lame excuse about the Winter Olympic access....................................but it had ended!!
On arrival at the resort (not the hotel) the snow looked fantastic! ...- Read jangler's review (943 words)
