I ordered a laptop with mobile broadband from The Link, assuming it would be sent out straight away. When I called 2 days later it was only being sent out on that day, so I cancelled the order and requested a refund. I was told the refund would take up to 10 days. 11 days later I called again, querying why the money had not been refunded. I was told they would process it there and then for me, and it would be in my account with 7-10 working days. The person I spoke to gave me no apology, and could offer no explanation as to why they had not processed it the same day I cancelled my order. When I complained, she said he couldn't get through to the department.
My query would be, if i had not rung to query it, would they ever have refunded it.

I ordered (with some trepidation after reading some bad reviews) my new Orange mobile phone contract with The Link and with my phone was a free gift (32" Samsung LCD TV). I received my order after a couple of days (credit checks required first) and went away on holiday. When I returned I set up the new TV and was chuffed. Then it stopped working 3 days later. So I called The Link (no problems getting through, took only a minute!) and told them and the operator said that as it's within 14 days th ...

Phone repairs involve phoning an 0870 number and being on hold for ages. Sometimes it is never answered, and I end up listening to a voice telling me my phone call is important to The Link, while I am paying 0870 number rates. It must be better to buy a phone from a shop that does not hide behind an 0870 number.

I recently bought my Samsung D600 on a T-Mobile contract from The Link. It was excellent value for money, as they even threw in a free 2Gb iPod Nano MP3 player. The person who served me was very informative, and gave me 100% attention and helped me get the right deal for me.

The customer service was so good that a week later when my phone broke (manufacturer fault, not theirs), and without a receipt or packaging, they exchanged the handset and transferred all my contacts and pics on to the ne ...

    The Link - WhiteRose Leeds.
I was promised an MP3 player for £80.00, but told that there were none in stock, come back tomorrow when we get a delivery.
Went back, and the price was £100.00. Still no stock. I asked the manager if he would honour the £80.00 promise- he said no. I asked why I was promised there would be one, he said I should have ignored the salesman and rung to check! (is he calling his own saleman a liar?) He then told me he would not argue, and I must leave t ...

Despite the negative views about The Link they had a good deal. I had already had a bad experience with themobs.com (see my online review) but the link was offering as good a deal in the shop as I could get online. The shop in Fleet Street was near to my office so I thought I'd check it out. The salesman suggested an alternative and better phone than the one I had been looking at and couldn't have been more helpful and I went back a week later with more questions for him. In this case I would ...

THE LINK, BULLRING BIRMINGHAM!!! DO NOT buy your phone from this shop, the staff in this shop are the most rude and unhelpful people I have met. I bought an LG in there, it failed, sent off for repairs it took A WEEK!! NO PHONE FOR A WEEK!!. A month later it fails again, took it in, this time they say it could take 14 DAYS!! So can I have a courtesy phone in the meantime? NO!! Call the insurance people 3 days that's better, so but can I have a courtesy phone? They don't have one, after an HOUR! ...

I bought an NEC mobile phone from The Link which malfunctioned after about three months - one of the keys wouldn't work which obviously made it impossible to dial most numbers. I returned to the Islington branch of The Link to be met with the fairly unhelpful response that I should contact the manufacturer myself and discuss it with them.

I had thought that was the shop's job but apparently many high-street stores are fobbing people off on to manufacturers nowadays to keep their costs down. ...

I have been to the following branches:
Tottenham Ct Road, Oxford Street, Wimbledon, Watford Harlequin, Brent Cross, Edgware and a few more I can't remember the towns.

I hate to generalise but I find staff working at The Link are probably the worst in the industry. I don't know if its the lack of training or if the recruitment process at The Link HR is flawed.
The staff don't seem to be bothered about the business let alone customer needs, in fact on several occassions I have found that sta ...

I bought a sendo m550 flip phone for quite a good price but after a few weeks, problems started occuring. We took it back to the link and they sent it to mastercarem it was away for 3weeks, whilst I had a loan phone. when it finally returned it was worse then it had been. We complained and were told we had to send it off three times before they can change the phone.

I have been buying phones from the Link in Swindon for the past 4 years (15 in all, thanks to careless teenage daughters and several thefts in South Africa on visits there). I have always found their service to be excellent. The staff are very knowledgeable about the products they are selling, and more than happy to answer any questions on how to make the best use of each model.

They will recommend various models, or tell you if they have had any major complaints about others. I have even be ...

I brought a nokia 3300 mobile phone from the link at a very reasonable price, it was only £100 as the nokia ngage had come out to replace it. It was used for 4-5 weeks before the mp3 stopped working and i took the phone back to the shop wanting it replaced. They said i could not have the phone replaced as i had had the phone for 3 days over a 28 day return policy. I had no option but to have it repaired
The phone was sent off to mastercare, the link's insurers and i was told the phone wil ...

I always advise everyone looking for a phone to stay away from The Link because their after sales care is rubbish. I have a 3 yr insurance and my present (SonyZ7) phone keeps going wrong (screen freezes, sound stops working). Then my battery went dead in the first few months so took it back. I'd never taken a phone back before so I left the sim card in it. Apparently they're supposed to check if you've taken it out. They lost the sim card so had to get all my phone numbers i'd lost. They tried to ...

I have had several phones in my past and all of them have come from the The Link. There insurance/warranty policy for Pay & Go phones is brillant and quite cheap compared to the other shops. All i know if some of the phones are slightly dearer then other shops but the service is brilliant and also if your phone breaks down you can take it to Dixons, Currys of The Link for advice and repair details as the are all run by the chain Dixons and work under the repairers Mastercare. On the whole a grea ...

After searching several stores for a pay as you go Nokia 3510i, I decided to try The Link. I was pleasantly surprised to find their prices vary competitive with the other shops that I had tried. I was, however, annoyed at the pushy salesman trying to sell me insurance. He kept smirking as I again and again kept refusing his offer of cover on the mobile. That really annoyed me.

I bought a contract phone (nokia 6510) from the link about 9 months ago. Within 5-6 months it developed a fault, I returned the phone to the link, where i was told it would be repaired by Mastercare (the company who deals with their repairs/replacements). It was "repaired". Then the fault happened again, And again, And again. By the third time i was told because of their "No Lemons policy" it would be replaced if it failed again. It failed so i sent it back to Mastercare expecting to receive a N ...

Yesterday (30th November 2002) I purchased a Sagem my x-5 mobile phone from a Link store in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
A polite staff member approached us (my dad and I) and asked if he can help. i said i like this phone and can i try a working model. He told me lots of information about the phone which helped me make my decision. He had a surprising knowledge of the phone considering that there are 100's of other mobiles in the shop.
The phone was actually £10 cheaper than anywhere else!

I went in and explained that I wanted to change from a PAYG phone and start using a contract agreement. I told them that I wanted to keep my original phone number to save texting everyone in my phonebook with a new number. They said this wasn't problem. Well, it clearly was a problem because they FORGOT. After actually using the phone a bit, waiting for my number to change, they told me I would have to go back into the store, they would have to DISCONNECT the phone and start again. Signing all ...

    Salisbury...

Being they had the lowest price in town for a T Mobile phone. My daughter requested to purchase a replacement for a stolen phone. OK, she is short on the large size (very) 18 but great. She was told it won't work where we live (even though it was a replacement?) The assistant flatly refused to sell her a phone and sent her out of the shop.
In goes Mum later same day.

    Abridged version;
Told the girl it does work we have 2 others at home working OK 'JUST GET THE PHONE'. In c ...
