Good Points: Styling Road holding Rear seat legroom
Bad Points: Not quite the usual build quality Irritating closing of tailgate Wind noise around drivers door
General comments: My previous Volkswagen Golf was the Mk.IV GTi pd 130. I think had a much more flexible engine to the Mk.V GTi 2.0 litre, but the Mk.V road-holding is superb, along with more reassuring brakes, and I also like the body styling, but parts of the roof and side door panels flex inwards when hand washed!!
Overall, it is a much better car, although much thirstier! It does an average 44 - 45 mile per gallon, and I miss the cruise control that was standard on the 130.
