“No grip”

Written on: 09/03/2013

I have them on an 02 CBR 954RR and have ridden a lot of sport bikes. These tires have no traction when stopping or off the line, but they do hold fairly well when turning at high speeds. I won't buy another set of them. They are most unsettling when hauling ass then trying to stop. I am a somewhat expert rider and have ridden since I was very young but these tires are not safe when you are slowing down abruptly. I know a few good riders who have wrecked and blamed these tires… Read Full Review

First comment I have seen on these tyres regarding "no grip" which is nonsense! I bought my R1 with these fitted and instantly was impressed with the quick heat up & grip with great lean angles.
I am not a Michelin guy as I have had Dunlop's in the past but the 2CT's are great tyres and they are noticeably better tyres than most at high speed cornering. On my second set but I am tempted to go for Racetec's next but will use 2CT's again.

Hello guys & gals, I'm 6:2 265lbs, and I put these on my 2000 ZX9R....WOW!!! These tires have been so good to me. Wet or dry, these babies have never let go. I'm not an expert rider but I do at times take turns that i know aggressively(NO CHICKEN STRIPS). I keep my psi 33/31 front/rear cold. These tires give you the confidence needed to enjoy your bike, and so far I have nothing bad so say about them. this season I plan to upgrade my suspension for my weight (Race Tech front and rear) and… Read Full Review

“Terrible warm up”

Written on: 13/06/2012 by Nadge954 (2 reviews written)

Having "progressed" to the Pilot Power 2CT's after previously having the older Pilot Powers fitted to my Fireblade, I expected great things - how wrong was I. They are terrible at warming up, even when lowering the pressures by a couple of psi, and have a tendency to "let go" at relatively low angles of lean. I once lost the front in a corner and was unable to recover it, resulting in a lot of expensive damage. I even got a friend of mine who races in the British Superbike Championship to try… Read Full Review

Just put these beast's on my 05 R1, was out yesterday on them for the first time had a great time seeing what they could do, needless to say they can do more than i am capable of. Knee down no problems gave great feedback and loads of confidence. I got caught in the rain and they still gave plenty of confidence. The lean angle is amazing and they really do "everything they say on the tin". Strongly recomend these tyres to anyone i dont think i will be moving on to a different trye for a… Read Full Review

Not exactly comparing like with like are you? BT 014 is now a very old tyre and not Bridgestone's finest hour! Even they admit that.
Plus the 014 was not aimed at the same performance area as 2CT's.
That said 2CT's,Pirelli Diablo super corsa & Bridgestone 003 RS are all excellent.

Written on: 15/04/2010

I just mounted a set of Michelin Power Pilot 2CT's last week and put 150 miles on them so far. These break loose incredibly easy from a dead stop on the street, especially when crossing painted stop lines in town. I just dropped my bike after the rear tire broke loose and spun out while crossing a painted stop-sign line in my neighborhood, going into a left turn. Tire was fine, hit the paint and immediately broke loose, sending the rear swinging around. As I ride a heavy sport-touring bike… Read Full Review

I've got the telephone number of a good opticians. Would you like it?? You clearly need to book an appointment as you seem to have trouble staying away from painted WHITE lines on the road. Seriously, whenever i started using these, i stopped using all others. They are phenomenal. I am a fast all year round road rider. I have used these babies on an '04 ZX10R, a GSXR1000k5 and GSXR1000K1 to name but a few and have never had cause for concern. Awesome rubber.

By his own admission only 150 miles on the tyres as of today?

I know the general rule is at least 100miles break in period, but i for one dont get to 100 miles and then to get my elbow donw casey style.

Perhaps the combinaiton of a new tyres and white lines caught the rider out.

I had these on my zx6r and found them way better than Bridgestone standard fitments.

I am just having them fitted to my daytona 675 which has Pirelli SuperCorsa SP fitted, ok but not as good in the cold and wet of a British Winter i feel.

I'm sorry to tell you that you are completely wrong in your approach. Try to cross painted stop lines with other tyres and the result it will be the same...
This tyres are very good and give the rider lots of information. Don't blame the tyre for your bad luck, it's just not right to do it.

These tires are awesome for spirited rides and trackdays. They are very sticky near the edges, which gives you the confidence to roll on the throttle out of turns. The only thing I did not like about these tires is that they wear very quickly. They are not for commuters. The Pilot Power 2CT is an exceptional tyre! I bought the new 2009 R1. The 1000cc bikes do tear through back tyres! The standard tyres did not last long at all (Rear, 1500m - Front, 2100m) They were pretty decent tyres to be fair but would work out far too costly to run them. Since the 2CT's have gone on, I will never own a different tyre again. The grip level is fantastic and boosts your cornering confidence right from the word go. They also turn in so quickly and easily. Very predictable and… Read Full Review
