You can send out messages to 100 guys on www.plentyoffish.com and maybe just maybe 1 will respond. But if you don't have a picture and you make a date for coffee, they may not show up.....or if you do provide them with a picture, they send an email back "I don't want to sound shallow but" then the date for coffee vanishes......just because they didn't like your picture.....meanwhile, they never spoke to you or learned anything of any substance about you....they base cancelling the coffee date on one thing and one thing only....your picture.....SHALLOW OR you make a date to meet at a certain spot and they never turn up.... DAH!
Not a good experience....don't waste your time....

I paid a fortune for Match and EHarmony and got no better quality of men than on Plenty of Fish. You have to ask anyone you meet the right questions and observe their behaviour carefully -- there are no freebies in life.

I do not recommend Plenty of Fish. There precious few people on there who are actually serious about finding love. Most of the people on there are there for intimate encounters or they just want to find a friends with benefits in my opinion. I was on their for almost two years and I found no one. I can honestly say that I am satisfied with this site and it's ongoing improvements. But I am curious as to whether others have noticed difficulties with windows and as to whether there is a solution to this minor yet imitating problem. I have met a very interesting person recently on this site, and will say that I would not have met her had it not been for pof!

Aside from these problems I am willing to continue using this site in the hopes that I may meet the rite one, as I live in the country, and have little time or interest in going to bars to meet women. A person must have patience and a natural ability to read between the lines when talking to others on these sites.

The dating aspect of the site is great. The forums are a real downfall. The one filter that pay sites have that this site does not have is the issue of paying money to be on the site. Because of this, more undesirable people are members because the cost to them is zero. I have no problems with POF. As with most things in life, it takes all sorts and it's what you select for yourself and what you make of it, that will dictate what kind of a personal and private experience you have. There are lots of people and no can dos about, but aren't there always?

Plentyoffish.com is ok to use as its free of course, but you do get what you pay for. I have met some nice people on here to chat thats it though should try to discourage people just messing around, as if your a decent person they tend to think they are all the same. Use it but dont take it seriously join a paid site for that in my opinion therefore do not recommend this free dating website.

The men on this site in my personal experience were unhelpful about certain dates. One guy purposely set a date to meet me, was a no show, did not callas far as I am aware and when I got back home he had just closed his account as far as I am concerned. I attempted to report him to POF.com but could not get a direct e-mail line to the professionals? A generally good site if you can get on.Unfortunately, because the site is really free, there aren't enought regulators. So in a bid to improve quality i.e. less spam, fake profiles, etc, they've introduced automatic filters which will delete a profilwe if it thinks that a profile is dodgy.This is the killer that will bring this site down as far as I am concerned therefore I do not recommend Plenty of fish.

Plenty of Fish should have a mandatory reading section as part of the registration that encourages appropriate communication styles, and built in systems that provide an easy way to respond to messages that indicates that they received the message, but they are not interested.
POF should encourage a code of behaviour. People are becoming more and more comfortable with treating others in a shabby way. POF has a large membership and could act as a change agent.
Maybe there should be a rating ...

You get what you pay for as far as I am concerned.
Forums are over moderated in my opinion, too politically correct and subject to deletion for the pettiest of reasons.
As far as I am concerned Plenty of Fish seems to attract a lot of the botton of the barrel types. Eventually, you might find the right one, but I feel I was played, hurt and dumped. Face it. We're all recycled people there. Most times, there's a reason they're still single, in my opinion anyway.

I like the idea of personal information on profiles as it gives an insight into who you are talking to and what they are like, however pictures would also be very helpful. I do recommend Plenty of Fish.

I have to agree with one of the reviewers below. I find many of the girls on this site are bitchy and come purely for the attention. The funny thing is that the girls are attractive, but definitely not beautiful, and they wouldn't have nearly as many guys falling over them in a public scenario. Such is life though. Plenty of Fish is free to use and there are loads of local contacts therefore I would recommend due to its ease of navigation this is the best free dating site I know of as I have not yet come across a bad point with this dating site. Try it you wont be disapointed I'm sure!
