I was on plenty of fish for 4 days. I got 78 of e mails from men . It is hard to know who to respond to as you have really nothing to go on. In comments I noticed lots of men expressing hostility towards women. You do not know what you are getting. My first contact wanted my phone number. Yes its free so why all the complaints. Yes, their are loads of dodgy profiles but that aside, there are some decent people on there. Its easy to use, much more fun and open than eharmony but best of all it's free. I find that there is too much quantity and not enough quality.. speaking as a man looking for a woman.. I am not sure what the men are like. Dating websites are only as good as the members on them. This applies to POF as much as any of the others. Where I live, the mens' profiles are pretty grim: poorly written, full of textspeak and bad grammar and with far too many topless shots in which revolting tattoos are displayed with pride. But this is not POFs fault. The layout is good and the site is totally free with no hidden catches. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for, but PoF isn't all bad. I met some lovely guys that had contacted me via the site, no one too weird thankfully! The minute you set up a profile it gets deleted 2 days later. You email the admin to ask why and they claim they are unable to tell you why!! If its because of complaints, there no way for people to verify they are the woman/man on their photos and profile! If its because of a breach of terms & conditions, you do not get notified as to what part of the agreement is broken.
